‘More Japanese companies to set up industries in Pakistan’

KARACHI: Consul General of Japan in Karachi Toshikazu Isomura has said that around 83 Japanese companies were operating in Pakistan and their number will be increased in future.

Speaking on the first day of a 2-day event “Hamara Dostana” (Our Friendship) held on Saturday at Japan Consulate to celebrate 65-years of Pakistan and Japan diplomatic ties, Isomura said that both Japan and Pakistan were enjoying a good relationship that will further strengthen.

The event was organised jointly under the banner of Consulate General of Japan in Karachi and Sindh’s Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA).

The consul general said that the Olympic Games will be held in 2020 in Japan as he invited the guests to visit Japan on this occasion.

Pakistan Japan Business Forum Chairman Sohail Ahmad said that the first business delegation of Japan had visited Pakistan in 1948, adding that 83 Japan’s Companies were working in Pakistan and more than 12 thousand people were working in these companies. He further said that these Japanese companies pay Rs 160 billion tax to Pakistan’s government.

JPCA President Sadia Rashid said this is a happy occasion that we are celebrating 65-year of diplomatic ties.

On the first day of the 2-days event, Kendo performance and Juustsu demonstration were arranged, besides Ikebana and Bonsai demonstrations. Kendo is modern Japanese martial arts, which has its origins in swordsmanship. It was the first time Kendo martial arts was introduced in Karachi. Whereas Jujustu is another form of martial art where one finds, a method of close combat, without use of weapons.

On the second day of the event (Sunday), various activities will be held at the residence of the consul general of Japan.

Japan wanted to share nuclear technology with India what happened there ?

That deal has already been ratified by Japanese parliament,it was needed because Japanese companies have stake in Westinghouse
