Amid the ongoing standoff between the troops of India and China at Doklam in the Sikkim sector, Indian Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has said that Beijing is attempting to “change the status quo” on its border with India and predicted that incidents like the current impasse in Doklam are likely to ‘increase’ in the future, Indian media reported.

The army chief said that even if Beijing and New Delhi arrive at a resolution regarding the current standoff, “our troops on the border should not feel it cannot happen again”.

China warns India over longest bridge on border

“My message to the troops is to not let down [their] guard,” TOI quoted the army chief as saying.

The current border tension was triggered by the construction of a road by China in the Doklam area. New Delhi has maintained that the road construction will threaten its national security.

The army chief said that India and China have been unable to arrive at a resolution regarding the tense ongoing standoff between their troops due to different ideas about how it should be carried out, adding that the matter should be “dealt with at diplomatic and political levels”, the media reported.

The Indian army chief noted that the capabilities of Chinese armed forces had progressed and Beijing’s influence in the region has been increasing as it developed economic and defence ties with neighbouring countries, such as Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

He maintained that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a violation of its sovereignty.

The border trouble began in June when Chinese soldiers started to extend a road through the Doklam territory — known as ‘Donglang’ in Chinese.

The tense standoff between India and China has only escalated since then, raising concerns in both capitals of an all-out military conflict. Both sides have made threats while simultaneously calling for negotiations.

Indians are trying to do the damage control through false propaganda in the aftermath of the Dokhlam debacle that has hurt their egos beyond repair. But this damage control is even more damaging for them :lol:

Well considering they start the trouble they should know when to expect it. The Indian armies janitors could have shared this wisdom with us.

Since Indian start the game, we shall get the ball rolling. Pakistan/India Kashmir issue will involved Chinese next time.

I hope India pull more dolkam moves in the future. In fact India should send arm troops next time, and start firing at any Chinese they see

We can take care of Indians ourselves. But we welcome your support against a common enemy. Maybe, we should hold joint exercises in our controlled Kashmir every year.

And, a win for the OBOR party, and that too before BRICS summit!!!! As usual Pentagon boys have again been duped!!! Not to mention NK is firing missiles like 4th of July fire works all over the "wealthy" neighbors the day after Secretary of State accused Russia for helping Taliban!!! Anyway, they can always use Pak as their "wheeping boy" in their policy speeches...

That is a good idea. Since India change the status quotas, China shall not have any reservations.

You should read their MEA statement. Sounds like some riddle. Very pathetic attempt to cover up their lost. No mention of mutual withdrawal, no mention of road cessation. Only the word 'disengagement' whatever that means and 'verification' again no mention to verify which party. They are purposely keeping this ambiguous to paint a strong image to their media. China OTOH had been very straight forward, announce India withdrew by 2.30PM and verified by their ground troops. And officially stated that they shall continue to patrol and assert sovereignty in that area. Clear concise and direct to the point. No Indian tongue twisters.

Hindus are desperate for a 'rematch'. They feel humiliated by their unilateral withdrawal.

But how do they assume a rematch would go any better? The gap between China and India is only growing with time.

Latest official update from China MOFA

Q: The Indian government's announcement is that there is a "mutual disengagement" of the troops between the two countries. You haven't mentioned the pullback of the Chinese troops. You mentioned only the pullback of the Indian troops. How do you explain?

A: The Chinese side has made it clear that the Indian border personnel and equipment that trespassed into China's territory have all been withdrawn to the Indian side of the border. The Chinese border troops continue with their patrols in the Dong Lang area. China will continue with its exercise of sovereign rights to protect territorial sovereignty in accordance with the stipulations of the border-related historical treaty.

Q: You said that India has unilaterally pulled back from the Dong Lang area, as was asked by the Chinese side. Then you said that the Chinese side will make adjustments accordingly. Could you clarify what do you mean by that?

A: I have made myself very clear. In light of the changes on the ground, China will accordingly make necessary adjustments and deployment. I also stressed that the Chinese border troops will continue fulfilling the sovereignty rights to safeguard territorial sovereignty in compliance with the stipulations of the border-related historical treaty.

the yindoo army chief sounds like that small kid I always beat up in middle school: running away with his hand covering up the spot on his head where I knocked him and occasionally turning his head around during his flight and yapping: "this isn't over!" hahaha. I loved beating him just for that sake.

...stupid yindoos...
