What's new

More and More Pakistani Products and Brands are becoming available in International Markets

Gangus running gangu shops in Europe have been "excluding" Pakistani organic products with "made in Pakistan" or "Origin from Pakistan" labels over the years and replacing them with their "made in india" or "origin from india" products. I saw only one basmati rice packaging in a turkish shop which clearly stated "origin from Pakistan", otherwise 99% of the times the origin reads some BS like "from region below Himaliyas" or "from indian subcontinent".

Pakistanis should develop their own chains that compete with such large chains. Sweden has allowed a few international chains but Swedish people always prefer local Swedish chains.

I know only one Swedish chain in Germany and that is "IKEA" and I have noticed that their standard is always higher than the comparable German chains. I have noticed from IKEA products that this Swedish chain has a better sense of "good quality" than the German chains. Swedish IKEA definitely provides higher quality products than the local German stores in the same price range.

Shan, three rivers, national, laziza, tooba, etc are already popular here in US. I haven't seen any new stuff.

Gourmet Pakistan is a new chain of bakeries that has been growing remarkably in the last decade or so in various cities of central Punjab, it started from Lahore I believe. To my memory this is the first successful inter-city chain bakery in Pakistan that is of purely indigenous origin (No foreign mcdonald, kfc etc.).

We have Lidl is almost every city with more than one store and it is doing business but comparable Swedish chains are much larger and better in quality and often offer better price and range of products.
Ikea is a great store and is much larger any other chain in its category but we have lot of other smaller chains that offer better quality but at much higher prices.

We have one in Giga Mall for a few years now?
In FSD, old Metro cash & carry was bought by carrefour and converted into a CF super market.

I dont know much but my cousin was hired for tbe project. He did the procurements & electronics for them.

They now also run a tv channel & assemble & sell bikes of the same brand.

Pink salt is monopoly of Pakistan
It was rebranded and sold as an indian brand by indian companies that bought it from Pakistan directly.

Same with basmati rice.

Wish I could get Pakistani flour in US. I feel bad buying Indian brands

Hopefully this is all stopped now since we have stopped trade

I am actively boycotting Indian products and so are Muslims from other countries too here in the UK.

I don't know if there has been an increment in their supply but Pakistani masalas have been around for a very long time in Europe & the Middle East. They still sell like hot cakes as they always did. Additionally, I don't see this as a sign of improvement in our economy. Our major exports were textiles, which are badly impacted right now. It was common to find Pakistan made clothing and beddings from major international brands. Now mostly you see is Bangladesh, China, India, and Vietnam.

H&M have a lot of their clothes made in Pakistan, and almost every bed sheet and towel I have bought is made there too, not to mention nearly all the footballs, basketballs, cricket gear which is usually either Pakistani or Chinese

Textiles are fine. its electronics, furniture, and produce we need to export more of.

Maybe german business owners are just more greedy than the swedish ones .

I have seen it all Mehran, Mitchells, National, Haleeb, Shan, all kind of Achars and even Rooh Afza and Qurshi is avialable at Walmart Canada and other major Grocery stores. It was available in NS Govt and it was Available in Zardari govt. Just refrain from making silly comments that it is PTI who is sending truck load of Spices all over the world.

Dude can you hold off your *** from burning when anyone tries to highlight some thing positive about the current government?

I have been living here for years. I did not see as many products and as widely available as I see right now. The whole purpose of the thread is to highlight that I am able to see these products in places I did not see them before. I was not able to find Shan and Mehran as commonly and on top of the shelves as is now.
And then I have never seen special promotions, discount and bundle offers of these products.

Above pictures are from an indian super market outlet where you will hardly see many Pakistani Products before.

So they might have been wherever they were but I DID NOT SEE THEM IN PLACES AND AS WIDELY AVAILABLE AS I SEE THEM NOW. And if that's a problem for you to digest then that's something you need to sort it out in yourself.

you will be surprised to learn that around 70% of these Pakistani brands are bought only by Pakistanis living in the foreign country. It reminds them of their homeland. Same is for India. I'm pretty sure you would also find a sections where Indian spices are also placed.

Not only spices, but other stuff like hair oils, biscuits, chocolates and snacks from India and Pakistan are always in ample supply in countries where there is large number of Pakistanis and Indians because they are more likely to buy them as compared to other brands.

If they were only bought by Pakistanis, they won't be sitting on top of the shelves on indian outlets and out shinning indian products.

I didn't get the opportunity to convince her lol, she was telling me how she's actively avoiding Indian products now because of what's happening in IOK. My family is originally from Azad Kashmir so I took the opportunity to inform her of details and history and also the conditions of Muslims and other minorities in India today.

To be honest I was really happy to see this, in the common people the Ummah is still alive. But she definitely puts to shame those so called Pakistanis who are still purchasing Indian brands and watching their movies.

She also signed and shared my petition :-)
