Mongolia not to allow future visit by Dalai Lama
Source:Xinhua Published: 2016/12/21 0:07:41

Mongolian Foreign Minister Tsend Munkh-Orgil said Tuesday Mongolia will not allow the Dalai Lama to visit the country.

The foreign minister said Dalai's visit to Mongolia will not be allowed by the government in the future, even under the name of religion, according to a report in Today, a leading Mongolian newspaper.

The Dalai Lama, a political exile with ambitions to split Tibet from Chinese territory under the cloak of religion, paid a visit to Mongolia on Nov. 18-23.

Munkh-Orgil expressed regret over the visit's negative impact on China-Mongolia relations.

China has voiced strong dissatisfaction to the Dalai Lama's visit to Mongolia.

In late November, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said China urged Mongolia to recognize the separatist nature of the Dalai Lama clique, show respect to China's core interests and take effective measures to remove the negative impacts of the Dalai Lama's visit in a bid to avoid disturbing the development of China-Mongolia relations.

Good descison...Again, i am not against Dalai Lama, but each nation should protect and takes care of its citizen.Mongolia is a land locked country...It does not have much choice than depending on China...So if you do not have much choice, then should to negotiate....Just for the sake of religious belief, you should not risk your economy...

When Mongolia's economy purely depends on China for survival it would be extremely stupid to pick up a rock and drop it on your own foot. I guess they weren't too bright when they were playing with the thought of allowing that old man to drop by for a visit. In fact there are more Mongolian Chinese than these renegade Mongolians, once again China had to pull some stick out and the renegade Mongolians got the message.
Beijing's stick diplomacy definitely works, Singapore got slapped, TW's economy taking a hit, SK has internal political crisis, PH took some beatings and came to its senses, Malaysia now siding with us. Now Norway after 6 years of soured relations with China finally managed to "fix" some of the damage thanks to the endless salmon fish selling efforts by the new government. If anyone has an itchy a*s feel free to test China's temper, i'm sure we will enjoy spanking those itchy parts with our sticks

Mongols were crippled over 600 years ago by the Ming Dynasty and then were completely absorbed into the Chinese Empire under the Manchus. The fact that Mongolia is currently a lapdog of China making profit and not a Soviet satellite slave is actually quite a step up. The Mongols only had ONE good run that barely lasted a century before half their male population became a bunch of skinny herbivores thanks to Buddhism making them a prime target to be a punching bag for China, Russians, Japan (briefly) and now they have come full circle to be China's boy again lololol.

Yea i know the whole story. I read somewhere that after adopting Buddhism nearly 60-70% of the Mongolian man population were monks. Religion has a history of pacifying nomadic warriors. Same happened with the Maygars, the Vikings, the Turks and etc. I can go on. Its still sad so see though.

Nicely said. Mongolia can choose letting an old man pay a political visit and stay on India's mighty economic and industrial lifeline. Or they can choose China's inclusive development and enjoy the fruits of new silk road, a land bridge between China and Russia.

They wisened up pretty quick. They are 85% dependent on China for trade. Now they can make it 95%.

Chinese government should more carefully think about this issue. Under religious tradition and management, Mongolia's top Living Buddha has to be chosen in China and appointed by China government, in Beijing Yonghe Lama Temple (雍和宫). This rule had run for 300 years before CCP controlled the government. We'd better support Dalai Lama visit and lead Mongolia religious issues, the coming 15th, 16th...Dalai Lama will make contributions to this.

Mongolia: Dalai Lama will not be invited to visit, support the one China Policy

Mongolia's media reported 20, Mongolia foreign minister Gilles Monge orr said in an interview, the Darai Lama visit Mongolia by way of religion, its effects and consequences beyond religious category, exerted a negative influence on the development of Mongolia, the Mongolian government expressed regret.

Monge Gilles orr said that Mongolia is back on track for the Sino Mongolian relations, resumption of talks to make positive efforts. Mongolia firmly supports the one China policy and always considers Tibet an integral part of China. The Tibet issue belongs to China's internal affairs. Mongolia will continue to adhere to the principle of position, not invite Darai Lama to visit Mongolia. Monge orr Gilles stressed that Mongolia carried out the separation of church and state in this administration, even through the religious way, the Darai Lama can visit Mongolia again. Ten world zhebu statue of Danba, Mongolia by the monks themselves confirmed, should not be subject to any outside influence and interference.

Modi gave them billions of rupee to accept Dalai visit. But when they saw the rupees were in 500 and 1000 denominations, they realized how badly sucked they were by Indians

Russia did it kid, learn a bit history that was not written by barbarians, you'd know the length that the Soviet went through to make Mongolia a submissive vassal state was unprecedented

btw, when was the last time that nomads barbarians had ever created a great empire that actually brought positive things to human kind apart from killing and burning ?

China urges Mongolia to learn lesson from Dalai Lama visit

Xinhua, December 21, 2016

China on Wednesday urged Mongolia to keep its promise not to allow the Dalai Lama to visit the landlocked country again.

"China hopes Mongolia will learn lessons from the Dalai Lama's visit last month and respect China's core interests," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said at a regular news briefing.

Mongolian Foreign Minister Tsend Munkh-Orgil on Tuesday expressed regret over the negative impact of the Dalai Lama's visit on Mongolia-China relations, saying the Mongolian government will not allow future visits, even in the name of religion, according to local media.

"China attaches importance to the Mongolian foreign minister's explicit statement... China urges Mongolia to honor its commitment and make efforts to improve bilateral relations," Hua said.

The Dalai Lama, a political exile with ambitions to split Tibet from Chinese territory under the guise of religion, paid a visit to Mongolia on Nov. 18-23.

Tibet-related issues involve China's sovereignty and territorial integrity and are part of China's core interests, the spokesperson said, adding that China's stance on these issues is firm and clear.
