LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami has announced to observe Friday as a day of protest against the capital punishment of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh leader Abdul Quader Molla, Geo News reported.

In a statement issued here Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Munawar Hassan, decried his Bangladeshi comrade’s execution as deplorable.

“Molla embraced martyrdom with a smile on his face. His unflinching spirit is commendable. His execution at the hands of a "slanted" war tribunal is nothing but a mockery of justice,” said he.

JI will also offer Molla’s in-absentia funeral prayers in various cities across Pakistan today.

Going forward, JI Ameer also picked apart the government of Pakistan for being 'criminally silent' over Molla’s unjust hanging.

“Had the government wanted it could have convinced Dhaka to spare Molla by referencing the agreements between former premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and the then Bangladeshi leader Sheikh Mujeebur Rehman”, said Hassan.

He added that Molla indeed became a victim of patriotism.

Bangladesh on Thursday hanged Molla, making him the first person to be put to death for massacres committed during the bloody 1971 war of independence.

Deputy Law Minister Quamrul Islam announced the execution, saying Abdul Quader Molla, 65, a senior leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami, was hanged by the neck at 10:01 pm (1601 GMT) in a jail in Dhaka.

The execution is expected to further inflame tensions in Bangladesh after weeks of deadly violence, and there were reports of fresh clashes soon after the announcement.

The hanging took place just hours after the Supreme Court dismissed Molla´s appeal for a final review of his death sentence, removing the last legal obstacle to his execution. His wife and children were allowed a final meeting with him at the prison hours before the execution, and found him to be “calm”.

“He told us that he is proud to be a martyr for the cause of the Islamic movement in the country,” Molla´s son Hasan Jamil said after the meeting. Shortly after the execution, Molla´s body was driven by police escort to his hometown, where he will be buried.

Huh? After being responsible for murdering hundreds of Bangladeshis in his area and raping dozens of women, he's being called a patriot? :pissed: Is patriotism about raping and murdering?

He was called the 'Butcher of Mirpur' and led the infamous Al Badr militia in the Dhaka suburb of Mirpur where he slaughtered hundreds of men women and children, and raped mothers and daughters.

And the JeI calls him a patriot?? WTF?

While I believe that the judicial murder in Bangladesh through a kangaroo court of Indian stooges was a miscarriage of justice, I agree that this is not Pakistan's problem.

How the fck is it our problem?

Let B-Desh do whatever it wants...why invite more unrest and arson in our country?

JI does a protest, road gets blocked (loss of transportation money), strike (again loss to our economy), property gets burnt (again our loss).

Why don't these idiots gets it?

If JeI guys want to stop more their collages to hang in Bangladesh they need to use international Diplomatic Channels, because legally according to simla accord 1972 no war crimes case lunch by any side, that’s why Sheikh Mujib Ul Rehman release on 8 Jan 1972 and other Awami League people from Pakistan jail and Pakistani Soldiers from Indian prison. This is violation of this agreement. If judiciary started for one side then this will be go for other side too.

I am surprised by JeI guys in Pakistan they are not try to go on matter in a legal why? What this political demonstrations do with this issue? They have 4 members in NA and share in a govt. in one province and did not try to force Pakistan govt. to deal with this case in a legal way. If JeI can write a letter on Munnawar Hassan Mafi issue to the PM and use their diplomatic relations with PMLN then why not for this one. Instead of that they going to processions on the road.

Mindlessness …!!!

Thank you JeI, Thank you Pakistan.
Lol look at this. This guy killed your own people brutally.

All the sane muslims in Pakistan and Bdesh deserves to be in one country while all the other idiots deserves to be in another country and do whatever they want to.

This mollah should be banned in Pakistan too before its too late. He is responsible for the killing of civilians of Pakistan because they've called a man martyre who is responsible for starting all this BS.

And they say all the soldiers are not martyre who were killed fighting for Pakistan :pissed:
