Mohammad Amir granted visa by UK authorities
ABDUL GHAFFAR — PUBLISHED 2 MINUTES AGO
KARACHI: Pakistan fast-bowler Mohammad Amir has been granted UK visa for the upcoming English tour, a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official told DawnNews on Thursday.

The left-arm pacer is set to make a comeback in Test cricket after six years at the Lord's Cricket Ground, the same venue where he played his last.

The cricket board awaits Amir's travel documents after which the 24-year-old will depart to the British shores on June 18 along with the team .

Amir was named in the 17-man squad for the Test-leg of the English tour last week. He made his return to international cricket, after serving a five-year ban for bowling deliberate no-balls, earlier this year in a T20 International in New Zealand.

Since his return to the limited-overs cricket Amir has bagged 16 wickets across the two formats.

Amir, who has taken 51 wickets in 14 Tests, promises to be a threat in the English conditions due to his ability to move the ball both ways at a daunting pace.

.
Only gets better. People are underrating us against England, mainly due to the conditions which do not suit us. We have got a decent bowling attack, Amir, Rahat, Wahab, Yasir, Imran all are capable of ripping through batting orders and seaming conditions will only help our pacers. Main focus will be on Amir, especially after his comeback in Asia cup. With the swinging bowl he will be deadly in England. I would say watch out for Yasir Shah, he is a young sensation, demolished England in UAE. First time outside sub-continent will obviously be tough, i'd say he will still be a deadly prospect in England. Along with Rahat and Imran Khan, do not underestimate these guys. Wahab can reverse the ball and pace and bounce and extra movement he will be good to watch. Rahat is an interesting prospect, he will be a good support for Amir.
As far as weak batting is concerned, our batting has done better than any team in the last couple of years, almost all of our player are settled and very strong technically. Sarfaraz and Shafiq will be among the run-scorers in England. Azhar, Younis and Misbah are just as solid.
All in all i think we have a good chance and i'll be very disappointed if we didn't give the English tough time.
Sad to see Babar Azam missing from the test squad....
PS: Shan Masood is someone who might rise to the occasion.

What the heck !!!!

How can this be any sort of News

How the hell UK can refuse a visa to the member of an invited team.

If UK can easily accommodate crooks like Lalit Modi and Vijay Mallaya as their citizens, then Amir is really a non-issue

.
those who saw recent Durham test between Poms and SL, would know, English batsman too struggle against quality pace. On paper Pakistan pace attack is one of the best and Riaz and Aamir can destroy any batting lineup.
I suppose key to sucess would be to play a few practice matches and get hang of conditions. It still is early english summer and bowlers tend to get carried away in overcast conditions. lets hope PCB has made tour program well

.
This is his chance to prove himself and take a revenge by annihilating through their batting...Wish him best of luck :)
