Former Indian External Affairs minister Salman Khurshid has criticised Indian Prime Minister for making a reference of ‘atrocities’ in Balochistan in his Independence Day address.

Guide on PM speech: Panchsheel n our Kashmir position no interference in internal matters of countries. We stand 2 lose high moral ground

In his annual speech to the nation on Monday, Narendra Modi accused Pakistan of committing human rights violations in Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Last week, Modi had accused Pakistan of fomenting trouble in held Kashmir, warning that it would have to answer for ‘rights violations’ in Balochistan and Azad Kashmir.

Balochistan terms Modi’s remarks confession of Indian meddling in province

“Is Balochistan a part of India? Doesn’t India believe in Panchsheel? Is it not a departure from that,” the Congressman asked in an interview hours after Modi’s speech.

“By raising Balochistan, he said, the government is ruining its case on Azad Kashmir,” he added.

The Panchsheel is referred in India as Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, forming the virtues of the relationship between the former and the People’s Republic of China.

“We do this in private conversations… between diplomats and leaders… and convey our concerns. We don’t make these pronouncements as policy pronouncements,” Khurshid maintained.

The former foreign minister went on to add that no Indian premier had spoken about Balochistan from the ramparts of the Red Fort, warning there will be a fallout of the act.

However, the Congressman’s own Indian National Congress termed Khurshid’s stance his personal opinion, asserting that India should raise the ‘atrocities’ not just with Pakistan but also in the internationally.

Indian premier’s reference of Balochistan drew a blistering rebuke from PM Nawaz Sharif’s adviser on foreign policy on Monday who termed it a proof that New Delhi was fomenting terrorism in the volatile province.

Intelligence agencies arrested Kulbushan Yadav, an agent of Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) while crossing into Balochistan from neighbouring Iran in March this year.

Yadav, a senior officer of the Indian navy, confessed in a subsequent video statement that RAW was stoking unrest in Pakistan, especially in Balochistan and Karachi.

The two nuclear-armed arch-rivals have been involved in a tense war of words on Indian atrocities in held Kashmir following the recent killing of a popular rebel Burhan Wani.

The situation has been deteriorating ever since as more than 60 unarmed protesters have been killed in the held valley at the hands of Indian security forces, also by indiscriminate use of pellet guns.

Pakistan had its chance at "peace" when Congress was in power. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was always clear about his intentions to negotiate all issues with Pakistan..then Mumbai happened...and that ship sailed.

exactly we have seen it before
Modi closed secretary level talks and thhen had to stop in Lahore by himself
same here it will bite them back

.
Everyone save Bhakts and Modi-bots agree that Modi's response to J-K protests was a brain-boggling decision. Almost 40 days of curfew and shootings in a region under your jurisdiction. People all across the country probably want to hear about how you'll deal with those riots and placate the thousands of individuals marching the streets. Numerous political figures have already come out and demanded talks with the Kashmiris to ensure peace in the region. So what do you do?

....

....

....

Oh, that's right! Jump onto the platform, beat your #56inchbreast and talk about AJK and Balochistan! :disagree:

Dont worry about that. Current govt will make sure that all relevant steps will be show to the world that our efforts are wasted with Pakistan. This is the reason we allowed investigators from Pakistan in Pathankot and your response made evident that Pakistan is nowhere serious to fix the terrorism. Your further support to Burhan and dispatched terrorists are nothing but strengthen the thoughts of world about you.

Modi's just mentioning of Balochistan made Pakistan frustrated and diverted all attentions from Kashmir to Balochistan. Welcome to new game of diplomacy and tactics.

I am not blaming anyone just mentioning the mere strategies from totally outsiders perspective. I think this whole game is to lead on front now and use the 'Diversion tactics'. Also, seeing elections in coming years, this strategy of government might takes place more.

.
UPA govt had 2 best ministes.. best pakistani defence minister and best pakistani foreign minister..

.
Neither does India. So we are in mutual agreement here.,

If tomorrow India cease to exists on the map next to us, that will not make iota of difference to the life of a fruit seller in Pakistan trying to earn his living. This is how much you are relevant to us. Our concern is only Indian sponsored terrorism and how we tackle it.

.
'Diversion tactics'
with all due respect Pathankot was also commended by many as a Diversion tactic
now lets just see the the pattern developing on both sides
In India Kashmir is on boil again and this time is being noticed by many
recent Rajnath's exit has also been seen as Indian loss
Manohar admitting interference in baluchistan has seriously undermined Modis diversion tactic
on Pakistani side
more focus is on Zarb-e-azab appreciated by many
Afghanistan is on boil again many blaming Pakistan
US has not shown clarity in thoughts yet
no one giving a shit about balochistan

these are the stats as of now no need to go back in the past
Pakistan might seem to be on the backfoot as lead by many Indian tigers here
but most of this is pointing otherwise thats why i say lets sit back and see
also realize that current status of dialogue is also clotted by India as they are saying that talks will be only on AJK and terrorism
India is only acting like they are on front foot and have pakistan with tails in legs but you see all the scenario is otherwise also note that most of turns in Indo-pak dialogue right now are coming from India
hope that draws the image

UPA govt had 2 best ministes.. best pakistani defence minister and best pakistani foreign minister..
sir if it was sarcasm
it still is not making the image

.
All i can say here is that his party(congress) has distanced himself from his comments...in other words India is moving away from not talking about Balochistan to cornering Pakistan on that front....India's Pakistan policy seems to be now changing for good...

.
Panchsheel was created 6 decades ago and it never bore any good fruit when it came to relationship with China.

Only good way in today's world is counter pressure.Pakistan openly supports terrorists,we should sometimes issue statements supporting those who wants freedom from Pakistan. It'll put some good senses into them that why they shouldn't mess with a bigger power.
