Miser action of Narendra Modi for Hindu pilgrims and innocent flood victims

- Uttarakhand flood death toll reaches 150, rescue efforts on; aid provided from all over the country.

- Thousands of Hindu pilgrims still trapped.

While each and every state govt. and agency come forward for the help like:

- The Air Force has deployed 18 helicopters and C130 aircraft. Private helicopters are also being engaged by the state government.

- The Punjab Government today hired a private helicopter to airlift the pilgrims stuck

- Maharashtra government announced Rs 10 crore aid for the stranded pilgrims

- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav also announced Rs 25 crore help to the hill state.

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced Rs two crore :tdown:as the state's contribution

It proves that he is just doing lip service for Hindus and India like in the past LK Advani have done who later on became secular by worshiping Jinnah, while Modi talks big about Gujarat's growth, what's the use of growth when in the need of hour you don't have money for your own country

. .
How much of the Maharashtra government's Rs 10 crore and Akhilesh Yadav's Rs 25 crore actually reaches the people of Uttarakand remains to be seen.

Zakeer Bhai, if you want India to prosper, give up your hatred for Modi and vote for him in the next election. That will be a real service not only to Uttarakand but to whole of India.

As shown in this thread, C-130s aren't only used in the dedicated SOF role, they'll be used where they are required :)

Buddy if you'll remember:

Nope- all 12 will be just for Spec Ops. How would they be "hanger queens"? India has some 10-12,000+ SOF operators leaving aside NSG. AFAIK right now 1-2 are kept on duty specifically for NSG use (the main CT task force based in Delhi) with a further 1-2 on standby at Hindon AFB for use by the 50th (Independant) Parachute Brigade ie the IA's quick reaction froce- in the past the IL-76 had performed this role but their high AOG rate meant that most of the time no a/c was availible to either the NSG or the 50th. [IIRC the next 6 Hercs will be deployed on the East coast and will cover all the way down to A&N islands. Of course, in any emergency the IAF will use whatever assests it has availible and are best poised to render assitence and will thus move men (NDRF) and materials where needed - as we saw in 2011 with the Sikkim earthquake. However for the most part these birds will be flying missions directly in support of the Indian SOFs. For general utility roles the C-130Js are present in too limited numbers to have any real operational advantage over the 100+ An-32 (and MTAs of the future) in service.

Further proof of this is the fact that it has clearly been stated that the aviation assets like the C-130Js will be a part of the J-SOC currently being raised in India.

:D:D

The fact is with a large NDRF unit being located in Delhi and the fact that the C-130J's have such high availability it makes sense that in these emergencies the C-130Js will be utilised by the IAF. It would be plain criminal if the IAF didn't make use of such assets just because their primary mission is to serve SOFs.

Didn't really read your whole post, it was 4AM in the morning :p

You're like an encyclopedia for Indian Armed Forces facts.

Exactly thats what is expected from a Secular Govt. They are not supposed to spend money on Pilgrims. All natural disasters must be treated at the same level and help should be sent accordingly.

The most communal Govt in the Country of Mr Akhilesh Yadav with 27 riots under his belt in just 2 years has made the most contribution. Very much expected.

Currently Money is not an issue. The primary concern right now is evacuation of the Pilgrims and the Security Forces are working tirelessly. We don't need these politician sh!t right now.

The focus should be on rescue effort than political one upmanship. If it is for flood affected people then fine. What will pilgrims do with money.

.
Rescue efforts require money and what about the 150 dead already ? Maybe their families could use a helping hand ?

Huge sums of money would be required for rescue and relief operations that would make all these donations from other state governments look like peanuts the money most probably is for affected pilgrims and their family so I guess the amount of donation by the respective state governments is being considered on the total number effected people belonging to that state

that never happens. Usually the state govt and center bear the burden. If it is a big flood / earthquake, then other states donate as per their wish. Nobody counts their people (impossible to get data).
We are talking about pilgrims here, then they dont need money, just whatever required for rescue effort should be spent, and concerned state usually does it.

Actually the full story goes something like this .....

Narendra Modi ignores Sushilkumar Shinde's suggestions on Uttarakhand visit

NEW DELHI: Politics came into play over the Uttarakhand floods as Narendra Modi ignored suggestions given by Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde that Chief Ministers should not visit the flood-hit region as it hampers rescue operations.

The Gujarat Chief Minister today went around the flood- ravaged to conduct an aerial survey of the damaged caused by the floods.

Apparently keeping in mind Modi's proposed visit, Shinde had said Chief Ministers, except that of Uttarakhand, should avoid going around the flood-affected areas because the administration would be distracted and it would hamper rescue work.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda also carried out an aerial survey of the flood-affected areas of the state and later met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna along with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in Dehradun.

After the aerial survey, Modi said "I am acquitained with this region for long as I have worked here and because of that I could make out a lot through the aerial survey the scale of the tragedy, the lives of the pilgrims lost and their sufferings."

"An area of major concern in the coming times is the local residents of Uttarakhand who have come out in a big way to help the visiting and stranded pilgrims. On behalf of all the pilgrims, I thank the residents of Uttarakhand who without thinking about whether there is food available to them and their families came out to offer all they had to the pilgrims. I am grateful and acknowledge their love and affection showered on the flood victims in this hour of crisis," Modi said.

Later, he met Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna and offered Gujarat's help in reconstruction of the Kedarnath shrine.

Then this .........

Narendra Modi lands in Uttarakhand, flies out with 15,000 Gujaratis

DEHRADUN: In the two days that NarendraModi has been in Uttarakhand, he has managed to completely rile not just the Congress government of Vijay Bahuguna but also the administrative staff involved in rescue operations at Kedarnath, Badrinath and Uttarkashi. But above all, he has also managed to bring home some 15,000 stranded Gujarati pilgrims.

The Gujarat CM, who flew in on Friday evening, held a meeting till 1am with his crack rescue team of five IAS, one IPS, one IFS and two GAS (Gujarat Administrative Service) officers. Two DSPs and five police inspectors were also part of his delegation. They sat again with the nitty-gritty of evacuation in a huddle that a senior BJP leader said lasted till 1am on Sunday.

Around 80 Toyota Innovas have been requisitioned to ferry Gujaratis to safer places in Dehradun as have four Boeings. On Saturday, 25 luxury buses transported a bunch of grateful people to Delhi. The efforts are being coordinated by two of the senior-most IAS officers of Gujarat, one currently stationed in Delhi and another in Uttarakhand.

As if that was not enough to thumb his nose at a government accused of large-scale mismanagement in handling the crisis, Modi later in the day even offered to "completely rebuild" the temple at Kedarnath using "the latest technology available" in such a way that no natural calamity would ever shake it again. The Uttarakhand CM is believed to have dismissed the statement.

What cannot be dismissed, though, is Modi's now trademark style of micro-management, something his supporters say is the need of the hour for India. "It's amazing what he has done here," said Anil Baluni, a BJP leader. "If someone doesn't like it, what can we do?'

Modi's men have not only para-dropped a complete medical team in Hardwar, they have also set up camps across th flood-hit regions. Prominent BJP workers in villages across the state are dealing directly with members of the rescue committee, telling them where food is to be sent, people given shelter and medicines administered. That seems to have helped. When a car owned by a Gujarati was stuck in a road-block by angry residents demanding aid in Badkot, Uttarkashi, an urgent message was immediately sent out by an IAS officer and the vehicle taken to safety.

Asked about the "new model" of rescue and relief operation by Modi that has helped 15,000 Gujaratis get out of Uttarakhand, an angry Congress legislator said, "See, that's what we mean. His model works only for Gujaratis."
