Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir should be tried for “treason”, Obaidul Quader has said in reaction to the BNP leader’s “call to liberate Bangladesh”.

The BNP secretary general at a rally in Dhaka on Friday said, “I urge the people to step forward not only for safe roads, but also for safe Bangladesh. Please rise and liberate the country again.”

When reporters drew the Awami League general secretary’s attention to Mirza Fakhrul’s comment at a programme later in the day, Quader said, “I have a question – isn’t it tantamount to treason? Will it be wrong to try Fakhrul on charges of treason for this (comment)?”

“Fakhrul Islam hasn’t been arrested yet and is roaming free after making seditious remarks.

“What independence? Are you happy for the Imran Khan government in Pakistan? Very happy?

“Mr Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, you’ll face the music very soon,” Quader said.

The Awami League leader also reiterated the allegation that the BNP was trying to destabilise the country with events like the ones that led to the takeover by the military-controlled caretaker government on Jan 11, 2007.

“But the people will foil all your conspiracies,” he said.

The Awami League leader also reiterated the allegation that the BNP was trying to destabilise the country with events like the ones that led to the takeover by the military-controlled caretaker government on Jan 11, 2007.

BNP needs to develop a backbone and lead resistance movements. They need new, strong, untainted leadership in the party who can take Bangladeshi politics to the next level.

They had some other serious problems too. They almost destroyed electricity sector, and also law and order was almost zero.
few years even peoples used to patrol their areas to protect themselves from robbers . Who were unable to do this because of social status they paid some labors to do the job.
And the scenario was almost in the entire country .
and also BNP looted from military budget . Well now they are payhing the price .
that previous BNP regime was actually nightmare in some sense.
Also rise of bangla vai and Jmb was a infame of bangladesh history .
So now they are paying the price .

However although awami league is doing well in some sectors but freedom of speech has gone completely .It is a disaster . If you have no freedom of speech then you are no longer a citizen , but subject.
and this status is too much disastrous.
Actually we need a new party like Pakistan has PTI . But I am afraid we are not going to get such party in near future !

BAL, BNP, any other party or a coalition govt is ok if only the MPs are elected by a fair popular vote and not by vote rigging as is normal.
