ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army is certain it caused casualties on the Indian side of the border in response to cross-border firing by Indian troops which killed two Pakistani soldiers, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Asim Bajwa said on Saturday.

Briefing journalists in Baghsar area of Azad Kashmir, Bajwa said it was not clear why India is "hiding its losses", Radio Pakistan reported.

The DG ISPR said the military responded "befittingly" to Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC). He said however, that a "war is not in anybody's interest".

"We have defended our homeland and we are committed to do so in the future."

Referring to reports of an Indian soldier having entered into Pakistani territory "inadvertently", Bajwa said the military is "looking into the matter".

Soaring tensions
In one of the worst episodes of cross-border firing along the Line of Control, at least two Pakistan Army soldiers were killed as Indian troops opened fire on the first line of defence.

India also claimed to have performed a "surgical strike" by crossing the disputed boundary. The Indian claims were rubbished by Pakistan Army.

It later emerged that an Indian soldier was captured by the Pakistan army, while Indian soldiers were also killed in the episode of firing across the LoC.

Security sources said at the time that at least eight Indian soldiers were killed in firing by Pakistani troops.

An Indian army official based in New Delhi said, “It is confirmed one soldier from 37 Rashtriya Rifles with weapons has inadvertently crossed over to the Pakistan side of the Line of Control”.

LMAO.
ISPR said the same thing about Indian casualties in 2002 during clashes between India & Pakistan in Gultari sector and even said they will present evidence soon but it's been over 14 years and they couldn't present a shred of evidence:
Qureshi claimed that 16 Indian soldiers died.
India described the charge as "false and malicious". Defence minister George Fernandes said: "It is a total falsehood. There could not be a greater lie than this. Such white lies have become a habit (with Pakistan)".
Qureishi told "Star News" on August 23 that he had "evidence" of India’s offensive operation and would soon present it. Later in the day, it became apparent that the evidence would not be readily available. Qureishi then promised to display the evidence "in 10-15 days". As of August 30, it has still not been released.

Seems like you are trying to justify why India has not presented the proofs yet :)

Let me remind everyone that Indian DGMO in his claim, on the first day boosted that Indian side didn't receive any casualties. These morons build their bollywood style surgical strike on such flimsy grounds that now there is no doubt that whole thing was a hoax to boost the false bravado of Indian nation. DG ISPR is trolling the Indian side and this will get more embrassing for Indians in coming days. May actually lead to destabilisation of Modi regime when embrassement become too much to bear.

India unlike Pakistan doesn't hide it's casualties, only one commando was injured in the said attack

Unlike you say, India use to put the bodies of such soldiers, lost lives at LoC, in cold storage to claim the deaths of the same in next few days by showing 1 or 2 to blame Pakistan for cross border violation or attack on Indian side.

..and when did this happen and what are your sources for the same? You understand if such a news comes out it will be a major embarrassment for the government

Don't you think the deaths of those soldier during the cross border violation aka so-called surgical strikes wouldn't alarm the public and families that too when NaMO is under pressure in front of opposition and many sane minds due to incompetence and after tall claims. If such practice is being reported by sources ever, what make you think the same may ever be effective anymore. Very few who can understand would take it, if don't then leave it. One of the tactics for such play at LoC.
