DAWN.COM | World | Pakistani militants escape police custody: India

NEW DE[/U]LHI: Indian security agencies launched a manhunt on Sunday for three alleged Pakistani militants who escaped police custody just before they were to be deported, police said.

New Delhi police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said the three fled on Friday from a hospital in the Indian capital where they were taken for a routine check-up ahead of their expulsion to Pakistan.

The men had been convicted for two bomb blasts at Delhi’s 16th-century Red Fort in June 2000 which claimed two lives. They completed their nine-year jail sentences in October and had been moved from a state prison to a security facility awaiting deportation.

“They had served their sentence for the blasts in 2000 and were to be deported back to Pakistan but they escaped from the hospital where they were taken under escort,” Bhagat said.

Bhagat said a nationwide alert has been issued for the men and cash rewards offered for information which could lead to their capture. —AFP

Why the hell did they even keep those jerks alive. They should have taken all the information from them and executed. To hell with the human rights group.:sniper:

I wouldn't be surprised if they are already dead

well, you r right. But still, police is worse than than they should be.

the only way to fix the police now is to do a Complete overhaul of the system. And that is a significant Political move by anyone. No one has anything like that on their agenda.

We just have to wait for gradual changes. At least they are spending more money on homeland security now.

If you knew the reality on the ground, you would be shocked.

Police are first of undermanned

under equipped accept for specialists

systemic corruption ,not everyone is corrupt not even the majority, most corrupt ion involves small bribes that need stronger disciplinary action to avoid. But there is the higher u[s taking bog bribes that needs formal Internal investigations.

Asking them to do better us simple enough.
But i doubt you can come up with a way to fix the police when the state governments that control them are also corrupt.

At least take solace in the fact that someone in the government is actually trying to get this done, with limited effort.

Who know what this decade might bring.

Indian Police @ best. lol! they never go to workout after training..some of them never fire a bullet after the training.

ooh now this would be a propaganda by Pakistani media...according to indians....lolzzz
