Srinagar, Sep 30 (PTI) The militant, who was shot dead by security forces in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir''s Ganderbal district, has been identified as a Pakistani national affiliated with LeT outfit, police said here today. The militant was killed in an encounter with a joint search party of police and Army in Thune forest area at Kangan, 40 km from here, on September 28.
"As per preliminary investigation, the identity of the slain militant has been established as Aijaz Ahmad, who was operating under the aliases of ''Amir'' and ''Umar'', a resident of Basant area of Lahore in Pakistan," the spokesman said. PTI MIJ.
