All the hype in South Asia has been on SU30MKI & Thunder & LCA development.

Recently PAF to their great pleasure have received the first 9 of 18 F16/52s.

Everywhere you look in india you see either SU30MKI or MMRCA pictures.

Yet quietly under the radar the Indian Navy have received 45 of the MOST ADVANCED MIG29 fighters ever built. Retaining the superb agility and power of meduim weight fighter but overcoming all the short coming of the earlier MIG29s

These include RCS reduction to 1/5th of the original MIG29
Multi role capability
westen style cockpit
New more efficient engine
New Radar
israeli & indian electronics

u kno that twin seater Mig-29 is less manueverable than single seat version!
im not sure about mig-29K though....

Suspect 16 on each new carrier ie Admrial Gorskov & Indian idengious carrier

And 13 in reserve or land based.

With LCA Tejas to follow As well.

In all Honestly i rate the MIG29K second only to SU30MKI in indian Airforce Navy combined.

Its not getting one Carrier its getting 2 new carriers EACH ONE 50% LARGER than their current old britisj x hermes carrier.

The indians are a BLUE WATER NAVY in future as well as 2 new carriers they will field 4-5 nuclear submarines as well

Arihant is sea trialing as we speak and Russian leased Akula will arrive in a few months too.
