Remember few things. MI-17 is most trusted platform and labeling it with causing of Tech Snag, wouldn't go unaddressed by OEM as well. Seems like Russia will have to step in as well to verify any tech glitch.
Secondly, sacking Chief of Western Air Command, may be the result of this along with other losses.
Thirdly, Indian Air Defence totally failed, though the are learning through hard way, and took down MI-17V5.
Fourthly, Those were all IAF personnel & I don't think that they have to do anything on that particular site/area. What were those ill fated personnel doing there in MI-17V5? has to be answered or may reveal by the time. The most plausible scenario could be that, MI-17V5 along with few personnel on board were somehow reaching a crash site of 2nd IAF lost JET to pick up pilot (s) & anything sensitive.
Below map, based upon available information may describe that MI-17V5 crash has nothing to do with Abhinandan or as Pakistan said "we didn't shoot it" which Indian initially acknowledged by way of calling it a "Tech Fault".

50 KM or max distance can be calculated between the claimed site of AMRAAM at Chassana Tehsil of Reasi District by Indians & MI-17V5 went down in Budgam or near that. In such tensed atmosphere when they received a call of an IAF bird is down somewhere, MI-17V5 took off with concern officials (IAF only) but met an undesired end.
Either chopper was coming back from rescue or it was going to pick-up. By looking at details of the personnel that died in MI-17 crash, one of them was S/L Ninad Anil and another F/L Siddharth Vashisht along with 4 others on-board.
