Thanks for that, Most Indian posters here will go defensive and come out with various lame excuses in defense, I have been to countries that are more conservative and others who are less familiar with western tourists etc.. But no where have i seen this habit of ogling at women from men from seemingly all facets of life like in India.. It's really disconcerting and my wife when she first experienced it was feeling so uncomfortable she decided never to return to India ( Though i have traveled to many parts over the years).. I'm not sure if it's the patriarchal society or something else.. But it's hard to escape in India for women folk especially if you're a foreigner.. You get the odd whistle or a comment in places like Italy or few other places if the lady is particularly good looking but you'll never get this weird creepy stares that you get from men in India

As expected right on cue.. Like i said men all over the world tend to try and get attention from women in certain degree's.. But no where in the world do they stare and harass women folk in public as it happen in India.. It's so blatant and happen across the social strata in Indian men despite the painful attempts of some of you insecure people to portray these men as rural folk, Most of the harassment happen in metro's like Bombay and Delhi, Where foreigner especially Western white folk are not that rare and it's not exclusive to foreigners Indian women are harassed and groped in broad daylight.. And it's not confined to within India

I don't think this is a problem restricted to India alone, credit where credit is due to the Indian member for bringing up his country first. In fact this is a global problem, my cousin who is a police officer in the U.K tells me many stories, and I have traveled a fair few countries where men are just as Leary.
