Mauritius is very expensive. Andaman is more affordable. I would want to see Andaman developed as a tourist resort like mini-Goa but without the mobs.

Mauritius does in fact have a large population of Indians and the Indians are the life blood of it's economy, but to me the amazing this is how the Indians and the African people of Mauritius work peaceful and together to make it a great nation. No wonder they have offered India these islands again, they know that India as it's protector they will be a lot safer from the likes of the bullies that are the Chinese.

There is no point taking over these islands for tourism purposes. So rich people get tax benefits by leaving the Mauritius loophole open and then you make a island resort for these rich people to go and spend their holiday? Sounds like a very bad deal.

Yes developing the Islands on the lines of a mini Diego Garcia would make more sense.

Also, India can help Mauritius in other ways to help their economy, if the tax treaty can have proper checks to prevent influx of black money to India..

Black money is the biggest problem of India. This money can end up in ill willing people and can lead to terrorist attacks in India..
