It is the indirect income that matter. Business and tourism are the bulk of air traffic. So if no Asian, African, or Latin countries followed maybe because Russian air traffic thru their countries are not that profitable?

This is not a good idea. Air travel and people-to-people connect is what keeps some pressure on politicians and public. Closing airspace especially at a time when people want to travel is ridiculous.

Heard that Russia has also closed its airspace to 36 countries. This is going to shoot up the oil prices like crazy as flights will burn more fuel (that's already through the roof), take longer and with more delays.

This blanket boycott is only going to hurt people of Russia and the West. Meanwhile, airlines like Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Air India, Vistara, etc. will take the advantage and rake in cash.
