No, we don't (or rather should not) want them. They are largely
not lovers or well wishers of India. I have talked at quite some length to some here in Canada, its not nice subject what they are thinking...when you even think you have reached some point with them in first place and they cooly rip it all up just minutes later.
The SL Tamil refugees that have already arrived (in TN) over the decades, we have to focus on improving their often sordid situation first before even thinking to taking any more in.
Overall, SL will have to rehabilitate and improve every relevant integration with the legacy inertia of (minority) separatists and extremists found among its Tamil populace....as much as possible using its solid (majority) Tamil bulk population who are looking to better future now....leaving the nightmare behind....and letting time also help with the healing as it recedes in rearview mirror.
No quick easy fixes here....this rift was very very nasty deep wound...after all it was near-severance of a limb.
Thus the scar tissue will take long long time to go back to full normalcy...however that shapes up in long term stages.
I wish the best for SL on it....it pains me to think and dwell on what happened to SL. This jewel of an island.
