This thread will be dedicated to the different war time improvisations all over the world. In the recent years we could see during the Libyan war or now in the one that rages in Syria all kinds of improvised weapons, made from the components that are available at the moment. And that's not something new. There are numerous examples of such weapons that are made during the break up of the Yugoslavia, wars in Chechnya.......
I will start this topic with some examples of such weapons that were used during 90's in Yugoslavia. It would be nice that all of you who wish to contribute to this thred, also add some kind of description with the picture of the weapon. For example who made it, and from what parts...
Kosava system
Basic concept of this system is combination of the ungided general-purpose airplane bomb( in this case four Russian FAB 100, or two FAB 250) with the addition of the rocket booster engine, made from the 128mm rocket, by removing the head of the rocket (used with the FAB 100 bombs), and in the case of the FAB 250, there were four connected booster rocket engines, taken from the K-13 air to air missile. There were different versions of this weapon, with three, or four launching rails, mounted atop the TAM 150 or FAP 2026 truck.
TAM 150 truck with a Kosava system:
Modified FAB 250 bombs:
In use with the FAB 100 bomb:
Top range of this system was around 20 km, but the precision was not so good . Yugoimport even made the version with the guided bombs after the war, but without success in selling the weapon.
