Then I would say at that barak II which is operational now.
It has range of 70km. But how many missiles can fire indian ships?


Does pakistan have also surface to surface? with greater range? and how many can they fire of these missiles?
If they can fire more missiles then indian ships..
Then I geuss that AC is dead.

I think Naval Pak-FA and IAC2 will be ready by same time frame , and you start training on before Carrier is delivered. Same was planned for Mig 29 k.
IN is on fast-track for modernization.
Best thing is RFI has been issued and 4 out of 5 have responded.
F35- L.M submitted their proposal for both B,C (conventional and STOL variant)
Boeing-submitted for F18E
Sukhoi- Refused so out of race
SAAB- Submitted for Naval Gripen
DASSAULT- no proposal yet , expected by end of Year
EuroGMBH- for Naval Eurofighter , presented a DEMO to IN , Proposal not submitted yet.

I agree what DASH has said-
I think we have a very good Air-Superiority dogfighter in MIg29 , what we require is something like BombCat( F14 like) to do deep strike and F18 fits that role, but so does Rafale though less effectively.

Second thing- No of fighters i guess has more to do with Fuel and Crew onboard to support that many fighters , and size + shape of Hangers & Lifts .

For catapult- I think few days back naval chief spoke himself that IAC2 would have catapult to launch Jets and AEW platform ( E2D i guess). Question is which one Steam / EMALS ????
