Lt General Nadeem Anjum appointed as DG ISI

Then I don't know what do you want. A Politician to decide & post Senior General by his own-self or a PM doing the right thing based on merits/feedback/report and announce it by his own-self.
More important question, why didn't the PM want ex- DG ISI to be transferred?
Why the favoritism?
Why did it take 20 days to copy and paste ISPR notification?

.
Pm Imran Khan made many mistakes like joining Turkey, Malaysia alliance making Saudis angry but General Bajwa covered for him. So this time army chief made a mistake and PM Imran Khan covered for him. No big deal. They are not enemies as Nawaz Sharif Bhagora looked at his army chiefs View attachment 787980

Their security policy is the enemy of Pakistan, even if they have good intentions.

I hope future commanders realize that there is no peace without deterrence, as children do on the playground.

. . . . .
You mean politicians should decide where senior generals should be posted?
PM cannot decide posting transfer of other army generals but DG ISI serves under his command so he has final say of posting transfer of DG ISI only.

off topic sorry mods but I have this question in mind for quite some time. 🥺

in the age of internet why government officials and institutions like PM office and GHQ communicate with each other via letters? why not official emails?

For that GoP needs a secure Intranet like some mil orgs.
Civilians want the ability to appoint and transfer generals, but lack basic common sense. Oh the irony!

Is your definition of precedence, issuing the same notification, 20 days after ISPR ?
Well it was not just it, when in the past we did saw people called upon and being interviewed? and the notification holds the new chief to be appointed from a certain date in future.

We have always seen liking disliking in the past with willingness and unwillingness to appoint someone.

If a procedure is adopted for the first time while there was no conflict in assigning the ISPR nominated person, what wrong in it.

People are already running pillar to post, trying to justify why it took 20 days to repeat ISPR's notification, and you are rubbing salt on their wounds.
Where is the repeat? Did army chief change the post of DG ISI for 20th of November when posting transfer of other generals is already completed?

Where is the evidence notification is copy paste as all other generals are already transferred while DG ISI is delayed until 20th of November due to intervention of PM?

.
Has the policy of the ISI ever changed simply due to the change in command????

NO... so what difference does it make? useless topic

Good thing that IK stood his ground. Military was trying to rush and expedite changing of DG ISI just so that General Faiz could be a candidate for Chief of Army Staff next year. IK wanted him to continue, given unstable & developing situation in Afghanistan. IK has delayed the transfer to the date he wanted. He has delayed it for about 2 months. I don't know weather this would still allow General Faiz to complete his 1 year at the new post and subsequently qualify for COAS next year or not? But anyone getting ahead of themselves to score an important appointment shows greed. I'd say either lack of communication or poor conduct on part of military caused this drama. Good thing that civil leadership stood their ground.
