Look at Indian democracy, Gilani tells Pak
PTI | Feb 6, 2012, 05.58AM IST

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday pointed to the "stark difference" in the continuity of the democratic systems of India and Pakistan and said conspiracies were being hatched against his government to prevent the holding of elections to the Senate next month.

Pakistan and India were created on the same date but there was a "stark difference in how they have continued" with their democratic systems, Gilani told reporters on the sidelines of an official function in the federal capital.

For a long time, not a single government in Pakistan was allowed to complete its term, he remarked. This had led to problems for Pakistan and the completion of parliament's term is in the interest of the country, he said. Gilani said "conspiracies" were being hatched to disrupt the polls to the upper house of parliament and the government had faced lots of difficulties.

Its a news article i shared so that people from across the border have wider reach. These kind of news articles do not appear on internet as these are too trivial.

gilani need to shut the fcuk off, who is he making fool, after doing 8.5trillionPKR (100billion$) corruption still he is left with a face of saying this. He & whole ghaddari.co should get lost to india & do their demo crazy there. I will support military rule million times instead of this cancerous demo crazy.

Why should he be ? Indian Democracy works.

Works in a weird way...hehe...
There is no political way perfect enough to make everybdy happy....
Democracy has its problems...look at india...or pakistan:whistle:
Capitalism got problems....America ofcourse.....
Communism got problems...:china:
Dictatorship got problems....:yahoo:

Fact is that Indian democracy did way better, none of the institutions ever stepped out of their limits, but nationalistic ego will prevent Pakistani's from giving India credit for it. I do not see any problem in giving credit where it is due.

Yea look at Indian democracy. 60 years ago, Nehru promised the Kashmiri people a referendum and they are still waiting for it to this day.

And india also has corrupt politicians. You don't need democracy to succed, just look at China.

Was it cancelled because of the lack of passengers? or was it just a gimmik to corruption?
I thought the corruption was based on a single project like in 2g scam in India....
So its basically a combined corruption in different projects totalling 100billion$s??

Why r u bringing kashmir into the context?
It got nothing to do with the current topic....
But china is not full of merry merry....
They also have problems...Look at the tibetian region...
They also suffer from internal trouble like any other country....

Having "democracy" doesn't make a nation great. People's Republic of China came into existence 2 years after the independence of both Pakistan and India and is far ahead of both Pakistan and India in every field.
