ISLAMABAD: Hundreds of British and Pakistani citizens have made complaints against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, after which the London metropolitan police has started investigation against him, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson said on Wednesday.
According to Adam Thomson, against the recent statement of Altaf Hussain, London metropolitan police had received hundreds of complaints from British and Pakistan citizens.
Thomas said to the newsman that London police is independent to investigate the complaints and is under no pressure from the UK government. Altaf Hussains statement must be taken seriously, because under British laws promoting hatred and violence is liable to punishment, he added.
However, it has been observed that Altaf had completely denied making such statements.
Pakistan and United Kingdom have no formal extradition treaty, said the British High Commissioner.
Although, Altafs dispersion was possible but there were legal complications associated with the process, he added.
