Yogi Adityanath.
GORAKHPUR: Local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Yogi Adityanath said Hindus should get a break to recite Hanuman Chalisa and perform Jalabhishek just like Muslims get a 90-minute break for the special jumma namaz.
Addressing a public meeting in city on Wednesday, the Gorakhnath temple chief priest said, "I want to ask Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat whether he is ready to give such a break to Hindus at Devbhoomi for reciting Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays and performing Jalabhishek on Mondays. If one community is getting a privilege then other communities should also get it. This a policy to appease Muslim voters just ahead of elections." Adityanath's comments come after Uttarakhand state cabinet announced that all Muslim government employees in the state will get a special 90-minute break for jumma namaz, every Friday.
Speaking on the proceedings of Parliament in the last session, Yogi said, "It is not the issue of demonetisation which restricted proceedings at Lok Sabha but the Agusta Westland scam."
The BJP MP said, "We all know who appoints those people as ministers, who raise slogans against Bharat Mata and who praise Atiq Ahmed's supporters. They beg for votes in the name of laptops and phones."
