Libyan General Haftar Dead or ALive...

. . . . . . .
@HannibalBarca Which side Turkey was playing in Libyan conflict?
Pro Haftar..Turkey furnished pilot for his Mig21 that were given to him by Egypt..
His death, if it is real, will give a good base for Lybians to reunite around their regonized government..But it will be deadly to Egypt...
Haftar was a controversial figure, pro Israel ,pro west.., pro GCC

Turkey wasn't pro-Haftar... neither Haftar a Pro-TR...
Turkey and Qatar are behind GNA...

Haftar (East-Libya) get his support mainly from Egypt/UAE/KSA... and lastly some sign of Russia...
The UN/West are behind the central gov in Tripoli (West Libya)
You hardly get a support from a state that you say as being "Arming Terrorist"...

Haftar was against Turkey. He was backed by the Saudi/Egypt/UAE axis and his rhetoric matched. The Tobruk government banned all Turkish contracts for the past few years until late last year as even they started to realise they needed Turkish investments.
But Turkey has been more supportive towards the GNA in Tripoli and Misrata has close business links to Turkey.
Also noteworthy is Misrata and Tripoli are the regions of Libya with the highest concentration of descendants of Ottoman era Turks.

The only relationship between Haftar and Turkey is that his military "investment" authority sold some scrap to a random Turkish company. Turkey's side in the conflict was always pro-Misrata and pro-Tripoli. Haftar got his main support from the UK, Russia, France, Egypt and the UAE (the UAE has an illegal airbase somewhere in Libya), and he receives arms from Israel, both Iran and Saudi Arabia (great salesman), and has briefly received air support from America. By contrast, West Libya has not received support from anybody, citing the arms embargo. Algeria must be thanked for their threat to invade should Egypt invade to install him in power, and also Turkey (they are training UAV and helicopter pilots because they have agreed on an arms deal/aid after the embargo is down).

In 2011, less than 10,000 people died. Under Haftar, more than 15,000 died in a single city, and many thousands of others were killed all over East and South Libya.

If he's dead, good riddance.

haftar has been obsessed with replacing gadaffi as Libyas new dictator. and will sell his soul to the devil himself if he feels like it will help him get his way.

he is one of those spinelss pro-whoever helps him get power types. A very dislikable rat. would not shed too many tears for him if the news is true, though I'm personally skeptical as this rat has survived a lot to get this far, and I cannot see him being offed this easily. but who knows

UN has confirmed that the envoy has spoken to him over the phone. He should have been dead long ago.
