LHC shatters PML-N govt local bodies dream in Punjab

ISLAMABAD: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday has directed the provincial government of Punjab for holding party-based local bodies’ election.

Punjab government had announced earlier for the organising of non-partisan local bodies’ poll across the province but immediately faced severe criticism in provincial assembly by opposition parties as well as joint petition in LHC.

LHC raised objection over the section 18 of the local government act 2013 approved by the Punjab government and termed it as against basic citizen rights.

However, Punjab government failed to fulfill its dream for non-partisan electoral process in their province after LHC rejected their stance.

It should be mentioned that the political parties who resisted the imposition of local government act 2013 by the Punjab government include Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Majlis Wadat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).

If it is what the honorable court suggests, it should be done. At least we don't put debris of failure on courts like a famous political party does.

Care to back your claim with something concrete? History shows completely opposite story where IK faced SC and came out clean while some idiots attacked court when cases were opened against them. Don't pull things out of your ___

Came out clean? He U-Turned on his stance of adliya by forging his own definition of sharamnak and adilya being the pooling staff. And the Burger Republic Army (BRA) which was starting to jump up and down started jumping down and up in compliance with U-Turn.

Again, stop farting and post something substantial. IK did come out clean in that contempt case, he never back stepped from his stance, never apologized and never withdrew his statement. It was SC bench that gave clean chit to IK in that case. Again, it was Nakara League that stormed a court in day light, the only shining example set by notorious circus lions in entire history of Pakistan. No one will ever come close to them in disrespecting courts..

Want to come back to topic now, no? Please enlighten us about why Nakara-League tried their arses off to hold LB elections at non-party basis at first place?

PMLN must do equal corruption in these polls to defend their claimed mandate they received 4 months ago and if they cannot and LBE are done more transparently, PTI will easily get 40-50% seats in Punjab.

this alone shows their mentality, let alone their delaying tactics, they have also passed a resolution in NA to delay LB elections.. they are the same people who didnt hold LB elections for 5 years in previous govt, and still using delaying tactics. the king's party never likes to delegate power.

unlike that PTI govt's LB bill was a role model, not only for the rest of the provinces, but for the world democracies !
