I thin Biryani is said to have originated in Hyderabad in Souhtern India. SOmeone with mroe knowledge can correct me if I am wrong...

Hyderabadi mutton biryani anyday. Pulao is also good, but it's like an everyday lunch since my mom cooks it atleast twice a week, so the specialty is lost.
