What's new

Let's end this, please

.
My dear Pakistanis,

Today a colleague of mine sent me a video of a little boy singing in memory of his parents. He thought the little kid is an unfortunate son of an Indian army officer who had been martyred fighting militants in Kashmir and his mother perished in shock after hearing the news. What he did not know, the kid belong to the other side of the border. In this age of Internet, information bits get ridiculously distorted but here, in this case the emotions that reached this side of the border magnified itself to an unbearably heart wrenching level.

Men in uniform are bleeding on your side and our side too. But trust me, now kids of those CRPF martyrs are feeling the same as this little boy of your country. My request to you all is, while you may hate our state policies (while we may do the same to yours), please respect the soldiers. Kashmir agenda has grown to such a monstrously poisonous extent that Indians and Pakistanis are assuming each other no less than a demon. Please lets not forget the humane side of each other and let sanity prevail.

Regards

Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.....

Both nations need to learn how to reach maturity without killing millions and millions. This romanticism with war needs to end. This shining thought of conquerors and victory over the enemy and rightful annexations and the rise of nation that will be a world power. This needs to end on both sides.. Just bcz this is a military forum does not mean we keep asking for wars.
Don't you know zaid hamid is almost ready for "ghazwa e hind" he's just waiting for Talibans to join in :P
as they are only interested in doing real estate in peace"
lmao

Guru Gobind Singh ji taught us that there is a time for humanity and there is a time when you have to fight back.

When there are 42 homes where kids are crying here, what impact is one Pakistani kid crying going to have?

Wrong timing bro.

Cheers, Doc
Fkn you crying for 42 homes, there is all Kashmiri living in hell go and start count how many homes are.
Did you ever feel the same pain for Kashmiris? Did you guys feel the same pain when we lost our soldiers killed by terrorists funded by indian govt?

what kind of human side? there are graves in kashmir which they didn't even mark.nobody knows who died there.your suppression and murders of youth is well known fact.you called them militant but we all know, all aren't militants.if there is no mercy on your side of border, why we care about the kids of your soldiers?you know that pakistan wants kashmir and why not? kashmir population is mostly muslim and this is according to the rule of partition.kashmir, hyderabad and even junagadh, you forced them and annexed them.half of kashmir is now azad kashmir.this war is far from over.india should look at it's role in partition.there is so much injustice.

Hindu is incorrigible - Jinnah

There will never be a lasting peace with Hindu, no matter how hard we try. It's impossible with the fascist Hindus in power now.

We need to realize the value of human life. I would just say we seriously need to start thinking rationally and wonder how long we can keep this up...apart from boundaries we live on a same friggin planet.
Try and increase interactions between the two people, get media to play a better role and resolve any issues we have...

I am very interested in knowing how these countries managed to right what must have been a HUGE gender gap when peace finally came. Did it ever right? How many generations did it take?

Cheers, Doc
Time and natural process. Also post war migration from ex-colonies like Pakistan, India the Caribean helped to fill labour shortage. France brought in workers from Algeria, Marocco, Germany gasterbeiter [guestworkers] from Turkey.

Bro that is a horrible thing to say. Are you sure that is Jinnah's quote.

There are good and bad Hindus.

You realise far right groups in the UK say the same stuff about Muslims?

Respecting and extending my sympathies to the families of the soldiers is one thing, but respecting and extending my sympathies to the soldiers themselves is another. I can and will do the former, but not the latter. It is worth mentioning that I demand no such thing from any Indian with regards to Pakistani soldiers and their families.

Pak musalman ...:D

What's that supposed to mean?

This kind of mindless zealots are abundant on our side too. I am speaking about humans.
Don't respond to that idiot...he has a twisted view of Pakistanis.

As for the Kashmir issue...it's sad to see the suffering and human cost...it's sad to see such human suffering anywhere and not just Kashmir. However what humans should ALWAYS do is try their best to solve issues that cause human suffering...be it world hunger, water scarcity, malnutrition, refugee crisis, oppression by a tyrant government and many such examples. The moment we(those who are able to) stop doing anything and let humans suffer...that's when we lose our humanity. So why not try solving the issue? Doing nothing will yield no result...as has been the case. What makes matters worse is the talks between the two countries over Kashmir have completely stopped. Though the talks may not have yielded any results but it was still a step in the right direction. In absence of that peaceful approach only violence will occur...which now seems to be an everyday thing. India should resume talks over Kashmir with Pakistan...it's the first step in reducing the escalating violence.

Note: with the word "violence" here I'm strictly referring to LoC firing/shelling/etc between India/Pak and not the violence in IoK like the recent Pulwama attack...that's a topic for another day.

When I was talking gender gap, I wasn't talking workers, but male mates.

From what I hear, Russia still has a starkly skewed ratio. Two generations on.

If millions of young men die, from nations that are anyways small on terms of population compared to Asian nations, then that means millions of women who do not procreate. Most of the casualties were barely into their 20s.

The next generation then, even with a natural gender spread, and the next, would hardly compensate towards righting the overall ratio.

I'll read up on this.

@Joe Shearer @Nilgiri

Remember, it took the Maratha 10 years to recover from one battle and be able to raise an army of warriors again.
