ISLAMABAD: The Commission to probe Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa incident on Thursday decided to summon Ulema, government functionaries, governmental office holders and media persons to appear and record their statements in the second week of next month.
The Commission has decided to summon the Ulema who negotiated between the government and management of Lal Masjid-Jamia Hafsa, the then and present concerned state functionaries and the then governmental office holders including General Pervez Musharraf (ex-President) and Shaukat Aziz (ex-Prime Minister) and the media persons in second week of February, 2013, said a press release issued by the Commission here.
The Commission has summoned Ms Sumaira Malik (ex-Federal Minister), Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain (ex-MNA), Abdul Sattar Eidi (Social Worker), Begum Bilqis Eidi (Social Worker), Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao (ex-Minister for Interior), Javed Ashraf Qazi (ex-Minister for Education), Ms. Aneesa Zaib Tahirkheili (ex-State Minister for Education), Zafar Iqbal Warraich (ex-State Minister for Interior), Senator Talha Mehmood, Mushahid Hussain Syed (ex-MNA), Liaquat Baloch (ex-MNA), Ibrahim Paracha (ex-MNA), Shah Abdul Aziz (ex-MNA) for 01-02-2013, Sardar Asmat Ullah (ex-President High Court Bar Rawalpindi), Sajid Ilyas Bhatti (ex-General Secretary High Court Bar, Rawalpindi), Raja Khalid Ismail Abbasi (ex-President District Bar Rawalpindi), Syed Intizar Mehdi Shah (ex-General Secretary District Bar, Rawalpindi), Taufiq Asif (Advocate Supreme Court), Malik Waheed Anjum (Advocate Supreme Court) to appear on Saturday.
Today, President PML-Q Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, ex-Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Ijazul Haq and ex-Minister of State for Information, Tariq Azeem appeared before the Commission and got recorded their statements.
Whereas former Federal Minister for Information, Muhammad Ali Durrani who had been summoned for today made request to appear before the Commission Friday, added the press release.
