KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Deputy Central Information Secretary and Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday said all the provinces, except Punjab, had already rejected the Kalabagh dam project.
Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa assemblies had unanimously passed resolutions rejecting this project, said the minister in a statement.
He recalled that PPP chairperson and former prime minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had staged a sit-in at Sindh-Punjab border near Kamoon Shaheed.
He said that PPP believed that strong federation is more important than Kalabagh dam for the country. The information minister said
that the PPP is the political party that strongly believed and has
been working for integrity of
the federation.
He was of the opinion that Kalabagh dam project would harm the federation.
