Kuwait sentences two to death over ‘spying for Iran’

A Kuwaiti court on Tuesday handed down death the penalty to two convicted of espionage with Iran and Hezbollah.

The case also included the possession of weapons. One of the men given the death penalty was an Iranian convicted in absentia as well as another Kuwaiti.

The pair were convicted along with 24 other Kuwaitis, one of whom was sentenced to life in prison.

Nineteen others were jailed for between five and 15 years. Three were acquitted and one was fined.

Kuwaiti authorities said in August they had dismantled an Iran-linked cell and seized large quantities of arms, explosives and ammunition.

The verdicts come amid deep tensions between Tehran and Gulf Arab states after Iranian protesters on January 2 torched Saudi diplomatic missions in Islamic republic.

What a load on nonsense! Pakistanis are for the most part very impressionable and easily excitable. The arabs know how to play you like a fiddle. And as soon as they start feeding you their lizard stew accompanied with a couple of dollars, you start dancing for them. You seem to have forgotten what their cursed generosity has brought your country.

Historical rival? Iran is an ancient state and therefore has fought more wars than anybody cares ot remember and won and lost a lot of them. Does that mean we are now out to get Mongols or that we are today enemies with Greeks or Italians?

Lets get real here! People are usually too focused on their lives and daily challenges to dwell on ancient rivalries that have no relevance to their well being.

If you see that Iranians are paying attention to 'Arabs' today you only need to look back 30 years or so ago to see the price we had to pay for our inattention. We are not the ones who invaded or attacked them. The same Saudis and Kuweitis are the ones who threw their support behind crazy uncle saddamz to exterminate 'Persians'. This is the crazed, hate filled ideology we're dealing with here. And they haven't let up since. The equation hasn't changed since then. This is while Iran's major preoccupation has been with the US and the West in general.

So if Iran has to proactively engage in the region to keep the crazies in check and protect itself, I would not be ashamed at all to shout it out loud.

At some points grown ups have to come to the table and start to recognize each others interests and work in a cooperative manner. Until then, this is gonna be a learning experience...

Well then you do not know what absolute monarchy is. In Saudi monarchy the political power transfer is done by a swimming Y-chromosome sperm up into a uterus. There is no need for a constitution in such a system.

In Iran political power is transferred via political institutions according to a constitution. You might not like those institutions or the constitution because of your political ideals, but at the end of the day, your opposition will be political in nature.

On the other hand in Saudi Arabia the opposition is biological in nature, the product of one sperm fights with the product of another sperm to become a king.

And it is amazing that you do not see any difference between these two systems. One is political in nature and the other is sexual. Too big of a difference to even contemplate over.
