Kunming terrorist attack suspects captured

Chinese police said Monday three suspects involved in the terrorist attack in the southwestern city of Kunming had been captured.

The Ministry of Public Security said in a statement that the terrorist gang of eight members led by Abdurehim Kurban was responsible for the attack.

Police shot and killed four of them and captured an injured female at the scene on Saturday night, the statement said.

The knife-wielding attackers slashed frantically at crowds at a railway station in Kunming of southwest China's Yunnan Province on Saturday, killing 29 people and injuring 143.

Both terms refer to what is known as "Death by a thousand cuts".

It is an ancient punishment usually reserved for the worst of traitors, though it has been banned for centuries.

But these terrorists deserve much worse than that.

That will only impact ordinary Uighurs who have no intention to do a terror act. It will be perceived as a curbing of their tradition, and will cause resentment. On the other hand, people who want to do terrorist acts like this one, will carry knives on that day anyway - after all, how difficult can it be to get a knife? Any kitchen knife or butcher's knife can be used to stab or slash and kill. Gun control has some effect, that people can't access illegal firearms easily. But knife control is impossible, at least over determined terrorists. Eliminating terrorists would be far easier than eliminating knives.

I have noticed that all these types of attacks have been done using blades, if these terrorists actually got some guns it would be a total bloodbath like we had on 26/11 in India. I guess it must be really hard to smuggle in such weapons in China plus these persons were not trained terrorists who have had formal training by the looks of it.

Two words exist in all similar news

1-) Ethnicity: By bring forth the ethnicity, they are trying to make "us vs them" to stir up relationship among nationalities, to feed hatred among neighbors and more violence will bring more violence and further destabilize the region.

2-) Rebels: By saying rebels, they are trying to convince their readers, audience that perpetrators are just "Innocent farmers who seeks for freedom", they are no terrorists..... so other foreign nationalities could sympathize with terrorists (without knowing that they are terrorists.)


If a similar thing happen in a Western country, they will announce the perpetrators as "Islamic Terrorist"

The word "Terrorist" exists for only Western World.... for everybody else they are "Rebels", "Freedom fighters", "Gunmen" etc....

Don't let them spread hate amongst yourselves.
