This came in his speech Tuesday during the launch of the fifth international conference on Electronoc-Warfare and its accompanying exhibition, which will continue until Wednesday, in the presence of General Abdul Rahman bin Saleh al-Bunyan, Chief of General Staff, at the headquarters of King Abdul Aziz City in Riyadh.
Prince Turki said that a new system, electronic warfare database management system, was launched by Saudi hands in cooperation between the Ministry of Defense represented by the Electronic Warfare Corps and the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
Prince Turki bin Saud said that planners and specialists are aware of what the defense technologies, especially e-war and radar, are of great importance in contemporary wars.
"The company was launched today under the agreement signed by the Saudi Defense Electronics Company and Aselsan, the leading Turkish company in the field of electronic warfare, radar and communications in Turkey in 2015." said Dr. Sultan bin Khalid Al Muraqi, CEO of Saudi Defense Electronics Company and Director of the National Center for Sensor Technology and Defense Systems at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.
Al-Muraqi added that no technology will be transferred except by a clear system and that he will have a clear request from the beneficiaries to verify the truth of the request. After that, the transfer and localization stages will start in Saudi Arabia.
He pointed out that the first production will be in stages and will begin the first phase from now until 2020, and this stage will be accompanied by the construction of the plant in an integrated manner and the construction of antennas and system towers to test and evaluate the systems and make sure it works correctly and then will be production.
He pointed out that the factory will be in the city of Riyadh and will cover all the requirements of the tests of the systems and design, manufacture and development and we will see national products competing with international products.
Al-Muraqi pointed out that the production of the plant may start before 2020, by producing some products that depend on the software, while in terms of support and technical support to the beneficiaries will start now in the company.
Al-Muraqqi stressed that the transfer and resettlement of technology will not be direct, but will be gradual and phased and will start with the Turkish company to the latest in this field, and then start to develop, design and test in Saudi Arabia.
For his part, the team confirmed the first corner of Abdul Rahman al-Bunyan, chief of the General Staff, the importance of electronic warfare because of its precedence in military activities and its role in raising the combat efficiency of any military force, and that the increasing use of electronic warfare means an indicator and evidence of its role in the future.. The efforts of the coalition forces to restore legitimacy in Yemen are a practical guide to the importance of keeping up with developments in this field.
He said that those who can progress in EW will take the lead and control of victory. He pointed out that the conference will have an impact in the development of e-war with previous scientific achievements, pointing to the pursuit of scientific benefit between all military sectors and government sectors to achieve the vision of the Kingdom 2030 "He said.

. . . . .
Is that for real ? :what: A Joint Venture electronic institute with Turkey's leader manufacturer... Most probably, Mr Erdogan hasn't heart that news yet.

.
Why give them strategic tech? Nobody is given that tech, let them work for that or milk the cow.

It seems Saudi Arabia wants a similar institute like Aselsan REHIS EW, Microwave Modul/Sensor/Radar installation to be established in Riyad with a joint venture with Aselsan.

I think you are right..and it might go further than that,, since Aselsan is a giant company and has many other branches,, this is just the beginning..since the Saudi Defense Electronics Company is a branch of the Saudi defense company..

. . .
What strategic?

EW Warfare is a strategic weapon, cutting of communication line and making difficult for radar searching the sky. Few countries are selling ther equipments but not sharing ToT. For me this is the dumbest thing they have done, Americans, Russian, Chinese and the EU countries would never share it with KSA.

Look to the Egypt Fremm class frigats, no EW warfare suit:-).

“We will discuss possible cooperation in the manufacture of defense related products. We will also discuss sharing technology with Saudi Arabia… We aim at making joint production of weapons that our countries need.”

The beginning of military cooperation between Turkey and Saudi Arabia would be crucial, Khalid bin Sultan stressed.”
