NEW DELHI: In the first movement on the Indo-Pak front in months, external affairs minister SM Krishna on Wednesday spoke to his Pakistani
counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi and asked him to expedite the 26/11 trail and take effective steps against the terror infrastructure. The telephonic conversation between the two ministers comes ahead of a possible meeting at the sidelines

of the London conference on Afghanistan on January 28. Mr Krishna is likely to attend that meeting.

Though the telephonic conversation started with pleasantries, Mr Krishna got down to the Mumbai terror attack trail currently underway in Pakistan but proceeding at a slow pace. ``The external affairs minister underscored the need for bringing the perpetrators of the attack to justice expeditiously and requested that India be kept informed of the progress of the trial,’’ said a statement from the ministry of external affairs. New Delhi has continued to express concern with the slow pace of the investigations.

Apart from the trial, Mr Krishna also pushed Islamabad to take the investigation on the terror attacks to its logical conclusion and unravel the entire conspiracy. “He stressed the need for Pakistan to unravel the full conspiracy behind the Mumbai terrorist attack following the leads provided and available in Pakistan, and requested that India be informed also of the results of such investigations,’’ the MEA said. The conversation between the two sides also takes in the backdrop of infiltration concerns. The external affairs minister pointed out that the terror infrastructure “continues to be used for anti-India activities’’ and asked Mr Qureshi to put an end to it.

At the same time, Mr Krishna also thanked Pakistan for the recent release of 100 Indian fishermen and expressed the hope that over 500 Indian fishermen and 400 Indian fishing boats still in Pakistan's custody would also be released soon. India has released 31 Pakistani fishermen and will soon free the 19 remaining ones whose nationality has been confirmed by Pakistan. ``The two leaders agreed to pursue further cooperation on other humanitarian issues such as those relating to prisoners,’’ the MEA said.

Even a limited dialogue between India and Pakistan had come to a grinding halt late last year after there was no movement on the counter terror front. A Indo-Pak meeting between the two sides on the sidelines of CHOGM conference never materialised. But there are now indications that there might be some movement on the Indo-Pak front.

I guess you are referring to Colonel Purohit.

First this is not related to topic.
Second, he was found NOT guilty in the Samjhota blast.
Lastly, he is found guilty in some other case and was arrested.

Pakistan will never ever bring the perpetrators of 26/11 Mumbai attacks to justice...why is Mr.Krishna wasting Indian tax-payers' money on telephone calls??
