KP to sponsor poor students
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, in a simple but impressive ceremony here at CM House awarded a deaf and dumb girl, who has topped the board in SSC examination.
Special girl Hina Razi Khan was a student of Centre for Speech & Hearing Mardan. She appeared in BISE Kohat SSC examination with thousands of normal students and clinched gold medal for topping the board and getting the first position throughout KP with the highest marks. However, she could not continue her education due to immense poverty.
Khattak on coming to know about this sorrowful fact summoned Hina along with her parents, principal and school board members to the CM house. He appreciated the talented Hina as well as efforts of her parents and school administration. He on this occasion announced taking all the educational responsibility of this special talent by himself.
The chief minister announced that education of all special children of poor families would be sponsored by the provincial government, saying that participating in such noble tasks would ensure worldly and divine success. He said poverty must not be a hurdle in getting education for children, as philanthropists and welfare organisations are ready to sponsor their education. He asked the philanthropists all over the country to assist the KP government in establishing education and welfare centres for special people in the terror-hit province.
