KP takes historic step to preserve ancient culture of Kalash people
Web Desk On Oct 22, 2020

PESHAWAR: After deciding to enact a law for state recognition of marriages, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has approved the establishment of Kalash Valleys Development Authority in a step to preserve the ancient culture of Kalash tribe.

For the first time, a special development authority has been established specifically for the Kalash community in Chitral valley of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) having a population of around 4,000.

The government documents said that the relevant officials will not allow construction of new buildings in Kalash’s residing area after the establishment of the authority, whereas, all development schemes for the ancient tribe will be monitored.

It added that those buildings already constructed in the living area of the Kalash tribe will not be demolished. The prime reason for the establishment of the development authority is said to have been the preservation of the ancient culture of Kalash people.

In the previous move, the KP government announced to introduce Kalash Marriage Act keeping in view of rituals and traditions of the ancient community in Chitral valley. The law will be tabled in the provincial assembly after completing legal requirements by the relevant authorities.

The announcement was made by the KP CM’s special assistant on religious affairs Wazirzada while signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Council of World Religions Chairman Qari Rohullah Madni.

The Dardic Indo-Aryan indigenous people living in Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are called Kalash or Kalasha while they are also considered to be the country’s smallest ethnoreligious group.

Please read Quran and Hadith. Protection of minorities (their culture, places of worship etc) is the responsibility of the Islamic state.

Oh really? I've read the Quran and Hadith, please remind me where it says what you claim it says?

Why the hell should the taxes of Muslim people be spent to preserve the culture of these barbaric pagans? KPK government is totally in the hands of secularist antinomians and ethnic nationalists. It's the same incompetent government that made Pakhto an official language.
This is why the Islamic right-wing forces begin to doubt PTI, the same government that made grand plans to build an idol worship temple in Islamabad despite the mantra of "Madinah Riasat"
PTI needs to purge these secularist, antinomian elements and totally embrace the Islamic Right-Wing if it knows what's good for it, otherwise, Imran Khan will go the way of his predecessors Nawaz and Zardari

To be honest the one who sounds barbaric is you. Your views are archaic and don't belong in this century let alone in Pakistan. Following your guidance Pakistan would be going the way of Afghanistan if not worse.

Secularist antinomians like you should be deported to Afghanistan along with that bald gorilla Achakzai

They are my Pakistani brother and sisters, makes me proud that my country is continuing its effort to help the minority groups. I hope these efforts help improve their lives.

in other posts this here thing loves US, UK, Israel and would love to love Pajeetland too but only if it were secular.

he is either as retarded as any injun/sub-continental trash who think that when they make contradictory speeches no one will notice or is a trolling devil taking the piss

I'm a complicated person not a simpleton. My ideology is very technical and nuanced.

Those who have been expelled from their homes unjustly only because they said: "Our Lord is Allah." - For had it not been that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, wherein the Name of Allah is mentioned much would surely have been pulled down. Verily, Allah will help those who help His (Cause). Truly, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty.

First, you need to calm down and think rationally.

Second, leave fatawa to the ulema..

Third, think on this point: in Surah al Kahf, what did Zulqarnain do when he came across a people who scarcely understood a word?

yup. a secular Canadian

You do realize that as a minority secularism suits us, but that doesn't mean we advocate for secularism in the Muslim world? Why is your thinking so linear, so black and white? There are shades of grey.

a fundamentalist deobandi hanfi

Well yes I am a fundamentalist and a Hanafi. But I'm not Deobandi, nor am I Barelawi. I'm closer to Wahhabism in creed, but in legal practice I adhere to the Hanafi school of jurisprudence.

a mild-mannered qadiani prophet (whatever suites the occasion, eh?

Neither am I a Qadiani nor have I ever claimed to be a Prophet. An ordinary Muslim receiving Ilham doesn't mean a full fledged claim to Nubuwwah. As I understand it, this isn't a religious forum and deep theological discussion is discouraged, but I am just clarifying because you are smearing me.

Zul Qarnain على نبينا وعليه الصلوات والتسليمات did not spend his people's money to preserve their culture. He simply left them alone. So let's leave the Kalasha alone, why should the government spend Muslim tax money to preserve their culture?
we won't stoop to the level of high caste brahmins by emulating their behavior in india

Why not? Even Hindus have realized how essential Religion is to unify and strengthen a nation. This is an idea that is original to our Religion, so why are we abandoning it and letting the monkey worshipers outshine us? Pakistan is much more homogenous than India, yet India has achieved greater unity through the Hindutva project (excluding Muslim minority of course). Why shouldn't Pakistan do the same with an Islamization project? After all, Pakistan was created in the name of Islam
