Pakistani Soldiers (future) from Frontier Force Regiment, Piffers in Libya 1941.
Taken on 21 June, 1941.
The soldiers are of 4th Indian Division, under Frank Messervy (Later C-in-C of Paksitan army).
Hellfire Pass was the nickname for the strategically important Halfaya Pass in Egypt fortified by the Germans and which was attacked during Operation Battleaxe in June 1941.

. . . . . .
Army of slaves used by colonial power for its own colonial gains.
You owe this army a big debt. What you see here is the nascent Pakistan Army. Exactly 6 years later these units would form the Pakistan Army. Had this 'asset' not existed in 1947 India would have turfed out Pakistan in a month like it did to State of Hydrabad or Kaashmir. Keep this in mind.

Pakistani state inheritated a vast pool of men and army with combat experiance from WW2 that assured Pakistan's existence post 1947.

We would have been better off without a slave army. I dont know which universe u live in but Kashmir was taken by ordinary people and the army actually stopped them or else whole of Kashmir would have been ours. Both armies had british commanding them, what a joke. What we inherited is mental slavery and cannot get rid of it till this day.

Blaming Army for everything is easy. It's our, the people of Pakistan, fault that we didn't make institutions, and it was always the army who came to the front to handle the mess, created by civilians.
Civilians behave like children.

Well, I thought tribal people fought for Kashmir in1948 and that's why we have Azad Kashmir.
