Hi everyone,

I just wanted to know if anyone is aware of a Pakistani film "Khel khel mein". They released a teaser - apparently it is about the events of 1971. Its staring that Sajal Aly, the same actress who was in that Dhoop ke Dewar nonsense from a few months ago.

I'm not sure what kind of narrative they will promote - just concerned they may promote propaganda and portray the Indian narrative

What are everyone's thoughts?

.
If anything against Pak to promote the Indian perspective ban it immediately and open a case of sedition against the makers….

The fun time should be over….

Any Pak film on 1971 should incorporate the following themes:

BD is the most successful RAW ops

The killing, raping, maiming, burning etc. of the innocent Muhajir kids, women, elderly etc. to execute the complete ethnic cleansing via genocide

The overwhelming odds the Pak garrison faced against a 15:1 Indian favor without any air, artillery or armored support! And, the logistics went so thin they they had only boiled flour to eat

The helplessness of the Pak soldiers fighting in an overwhelmingly hostile environment

The Pak top leadership’s incompetence and leniency to grasp the seriousness of the matter. They failed to nip the proxy traitor terrorists, Mujib and his cohorts in politics/media/bureaucracy/military etc., at the bud

Excellent.

Hopefully the movie is made in such a way that it would be released in both Pak and BD, becomes a hit.

Both countries should adress the '71 elephant in the room for better relationship..

I 100% agree with you. I'm just concerned that they will spread Indian propoganda knowingly / unknowingly because that is the common perception as India has controlled the narrative so far. It would be a huge disappointment if this film also portrays this - another propoganda to malign the forces

.
it's a Nabeel Qureshi film starring Bilal Abbas, let's see...

. . .
Too ambitious - will be a dud. Hope not, and wishing for the best.
What narrative do you think will be portrayed here? Sajal Ali's character says something along the lines of "why did we accept the enemy narrative" - I assume they're taking about the Indian narrative which has spread proprganda and misinformation agaisnt Pak?

agreed. I think this movie will concentrate on how it was the pro Pakistani people who were slaughtered in 1971.

. . . .

Looks like they are addressing some neglected issues here like what happened to Pakistanis left in Bangladesh after the surrender, what happened to Pakistan Army POWS after the surrender, what conditions they are living in today, how India sponsored and still sponsors terrorism in our country.
But what I don't like is this Bollywood style dancing and clown moves, if you are making a history movie try to stick to it instead of mixing up things.

There are already articles on this film in Bangladeshi press. However there is not even a whisper on Pakistani side even though teaser was released 3 months ago and there was never before a movie or drama on 1971 war prior to this.

Most of the comment on YouTube page of teaser/trailer also appears to be from Bengalis.

It appears that for most of Pakistanis, East Pakistan is just an alien concept. Most of new generation has accepted that present Pakistan is what was created in 1947. :woot:
