I am not surprised!
Go to any part of of the world, be it congo or be it Vietnam you will find a keralite. Our population density (that is if all the mallus returned home) would be much higher than many other states in India. Not so long back per sq.Km population density of kerala was highest in India, don't know which state is leading now.


I just busted the myth that there was a connection between high population growth and a certain community.

We have a lot of keralian nurses in our hospital....
Then had a lot of keralian nuns in our school.... learnt a few sentence from them..

This is actually true. The primary reason for Malayalees opting for lesser kids is because they cannot afford more than one kid. When the actually sit and calculate the cost of rising the kid, educating them, collecting gold for marriage , building a house for the etc. most decide they cannot afford more kids.

They choose to cull their own family rather than dream big and have great ambition. This is just a sad reality.

Its happening everywhere. Do you think that the average middle class family in Delhi, Mumbai or B-lore has the same number of children as a generation ago?

The usual trend is that the higher the living standards become with economic development, the lower the number of children. Which is a good thing for a nation like India.
