Three patients from Kerala, who were India's only positive COVID-19 cases till now, have successfully recovered from the infection as on Friday, February 14.

The news of their recovery was confirmed by Kerala’s Finance Minister, Thomas Isaac, who in a Twitter post said: “Just as in the case of Nipah, Kerala has won the battle with coronavirus. All the three patients identified have been confirmed by central authorities to have fully recovered.”

All three patients are medical students who returned from Wuhan, China—the epicenter of the disease outbreak.

On Thursday, Kerala health officials had declared that the first two positive cases, reported from the state’s Thrissur and Alappuzha districts, had already recovered after testing negative for the COVID-19 infection. The third student from Kasargod has also recovered, but remains under observation for some time.

Kerala health officials have so far relieved about 1,062 people who were previously suspected to be infected by coronavirus. About 2,397 patients continue to be in quarantine observation; out of them, 2,375 are under home quarantine, and 22 under isolation in hospitals.

On February 3, Kerala had declared the coronavirus outbreak as a state disaster after the number of positive cases rose to three. However, the declaration was withdrawn last week, as no more confirmed cases of the virus were reported thereafter.

Meanwhile, the fast-spreading virus has infected about 64,000 people around the world as of February 14, killing close to 1,380 people in China.

Kerala has a good healthcare system, they had also gained experience by fighting nipah. I hope this virus does not come to any states in north where healthcare system is bad and densely populated, states like UP or bengal.

.
What about the infected Kerala guys who fled to Saudia and disappeared? any news?

Indians are funny at making headlines, they show like they have defeated something that attacked them..they themselves brought the infected people into their country on special flights..

No, they not came from special flight.....

Did they drink guy mutra?
That is a unfair comment. If they have done well it should be commended. However like all viruses the adverse outcomes will be in xases who are compromised by age and comorbidities. Thdse were 3 young men with good reserves so recovery would have heen an expected outcome. However they seem to have a handle on things with quarantines and a pliable public who obeys advice.
Well done Kerala.

It would be interesting to know if guy mutra is effective against Coronavirus, so many Indians on pdf have touted and supported the efficacy of guy mutra , let's see how effective it is. Hope they use themselves as guinea pigs to prove their assertion.

You seem quite the connoisseur
It's an Indian delicacy and medicinal favourite, not mine.

This happens in even hospitals that have taken 2 years to be built.

.
You guys don't have basic facilities for heart transplant or heart surgeries yet trying to Insult India... We do have facilities ... doing good in this field.. so get rid off your nonsense..

. . .
From what I'm seeing and hearing Kerala should be a free, seperate country.
