Kawasaki seems to be taking an aggressive approach to its expansion, one that has completely shaken the superbike segment by bringing a lot of new products on offer. After bringing forth the ZX-10R and the ZX-14R in November, India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) has now launched its naked Z1000 and the Ninja 1000 at Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom Pune).

Commenting on the launch, Yuji Horiuchi, Managing Director, India Kawasaki Motors said, “The Indian high-end motorcycle market offers tremendous growth opportunities. We had recently launched two of our flagship models and received impressive response from these products. To further strengthen our presence in the country, we are now launching two more global products targeted at specific audiences. With incessant support from our long-standing partners, Bajaj Auto we look forward to taking theKawasaki brand in India from strength to strength.”

The Z1000 and the Ninja 1000 will be powered by the same 1,043cc DOHC, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 142PS of power at 10,000rpm and 111Nm of torque at 7,300rpm. Both the models host the same twin spar cast alloy frame that is also seen on the ZX-10R, with an upside-down telescopic suspension up front and a horizontal layout mono-shock at the back. The Z1000 hosts 310mm dual petal disc up front and a single petal disc at the back. The Ninja 1000 sports a similar combination but with a slightly smaller 300mm disc up ahead.

Both these motorcycles have been brought to India via the Completely Built Unit (CBU) trim and will be available at the Wakdewadi, Pune dealership as well as the new dealership in Delhi. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer’s initial target for sales is 100 units per model per year. Further to these four motorcycles, we also expect the smaller Z800 to come to Indian shores sometime next month.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 is the best.
According to my point of view, considering the current situation the government should provide some relief in importing bikes lower than 250cc.
