The problems started in 1989. Before that going to Kashmir for all of India was like going to any other state. After 1989 communal butchering of non-muslims, tensions rose high and Congress and Abdullah government ruled in the name of secularism. That is the problem.

There are some that have separatist and anti-Indian tendencies. We want to throw them out but secularist vermin will not do it because it will weaken their power hold. That's the reason why they are feeling so threatened in this elections.

The point is, those who are Indians don't need a certificate to prove their pride and dedication while those who are pretending and living off freebies and concessions, but hate our country, will be thrown out. The land stays with us.

Three Kashmiri students from a private university in India's Greater Noida city of Uttar Pradesh were allegedly beaten up and forced to shout pro-Indian and anti-Pakistani statements at the common hostel they were staying at, according to a report on The Hindustan Times website.

At least six students, who were allegedly intoxicated, forced their way into the room of the Kashmiris students attacking them and made them shout anti-Pakistan slogans.

Around 150 students staged protests on Monday, claiming that their university administration and local police had turned a deaf ear to their grievances and had failed to respond on time to their complaints when the incident took place.

Even though the targeted student all belonged to Kashmir the university administrations tried to play down the tone of the incident alleging there was no ethnic or regional context.

The incident is reminiscent of a similar incident in March when 67 students from Kashmir were expelled and charged with sedition following a clash over alleged support for Pakistan duringthe Indo-Pak Asia Cup cricket clash.

The sedition charges were later dropped.

Karan Bhai, most of the Pakistanis hadn't seen a Kashmiri in their life, all their accounts comes from propaganda pieces from their news paper. Anyway, Shaikh Abdullah did a great thing by making Urdu as the official language of Jammu and Kashmir and those Kashmiris don't find themselves different when they migrate to other Indian cities for education and job.

There seems to be a contradiction, only because you selectively highlighted some parts of my post while ignoring others. I was clear, that from India's POV, Kashmir and Kashmiris will remain Indians, except the handful who don't want to do so - they are free to go to Pakistan, but I know that Pak won't accept them without their land.

The 12 million or so Kashmiris who are living as proud Indians will continue to live as Indians with all the rights and freedoms guaranteed to other Indians (and more, in fact). And every inch of Indian Kashmir will remain Indian. Send your army or mujashits, none of them can steal it from us.

As for the last sentence - I only had to mention it because Pakistanis here live under the risible delusion that there are people yearning to become Pakistanis. Otherwise, it is self evident, and need not be mentioned. Other than extreme masochists, nobody would want to fly into the Titanic after it has hit the iceberg.
