Kashmir truck attack victim, targetted over beef, dies, violence erupts in Kashmir

Srinagar: Violence erupted in parts of the Kashmir Valley on Sunday after a 16-year-old injured in a bomb attack on a truck on 9 October died in Delhi, police and witnesses said.
Zahid Rasool Bhat, who was being treated for burn injuries in Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital, died on Sunday, a senior police officer told IANS in Srinagar.
Bhat and another Kashmiri from Anantnag district, Showkat Ahmad Dar, 35, sustained serious injuries when their parked truck was attacked by a mob with a petrol bomb at Udhampur town on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.
The attack, allegedly by a Hindu mob, took place in the aftermath of a beef party hosted by independent legislator Engineer Rashid in Srinagar.
As news of the death in Delhi spread, mobs took to the streets in the southern district of Anantnag in the Kashmir Valley and blocked the Jammu-Srinagar highway by burning tyres.
The highway is the only road link between the Kashmir Valley and the rest of India.
They also shouted slogans against the government, and pelted stones at security personnel who tried to disperse them, witnesses said.
Hurriyat chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said the government was to blame for Bhat's death as it failed to provide security to the truckers.
The separatists called for a shutdown in the Kashmir Valley on Monday.
Both the victims of the attack were flown to Safdarjung Hospital which specializes in treating burn injuries.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed had visited them at the hospital three days back.

Death is regrettable but you get what you ask for. Cows were slaughtered in the valley to mock Kashmiri Pandits and now they have decided enough is enough and they want to give it back in equal measures. They kept silent and thought Indian Secularism will help them when threats of mass killings and rapes were played on loudspeakers, but now they are standing up for their right to live respectfully. Big up Kashmiri Pandits.

PS: Pleasantly surprised to see that Kashmiri Pandits had this side as well.

Eating beef is Muslims right cow is sacred for Hindus. We kill we slaughter cows we eat. And all the Indian Muslims should eat only beef let’s see how many they can kill don't give their birth right,

According to your philosophy if an individual is pugnacious in character then they deserve death by a public lynch mob. Please continue with these actions because the western world will notice the true ugly nature of Indians. You should burn the Supreme Court of India and all law books, because the judicial process should not exist in your mind-frame and everyone is entitled to take the law into there own hands. However please continue since these killings will create the seed of hatred and the vicious cycle of revenge will occur and India will suffer. Don't worry Hafiz Saeed has a special present for the Kashmiri Pandits

Well you might strive for acceptance of Western World we don't, we just want to do good business with them. Period.

I love it when people selectively quote Indian law, courts and judicial process.

I wonder what hand full separatists, protesters and militants indulge in if not pure hatred of Hindus, it's just that they will getting the stick from both ends now. Security forces as well as from civilians.
