KARACHI (APP) – President Dr Arif Alvi Monday called for early completion of Green Line Bus project in Karachi, saying the provision of basic facilities to the people of Quaid’s city was among top priorities of the government.

The president said this during a briefing on federal government’s ongoing development projects in Sindh, given by Sindh Infrastructure Development Company, a statement issued by the president’s media office said. Governor Sindh Imran Ismail was also present.

The president said Green Line project was of great importance for regular travelers in Karachi. He said Karachi was country’s economic hub.

The president also directed for completion of flyovers on Manghopir Road, Nishter Road and Sher Shah Suri Road under federal government’s Karachi Package by September this year.

He asked the authorities concerned to supply newly inducted firefighting equipment to Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) areas by collaboration between Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and SITE Associations for their effective utilization during any fire incident.

The president urged to augment pace of work on all new development projects announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan

We can compare the Productivity of the Multiple Transit projects by comparing the mega projects done in various cities of Pakistan , and once again we can see massive slow pace of completion when it comes to Karachi , lack of planning from PPP is very visible

If the Construction project in Karachi was with Chinese company most likely in 6-8 months they would have completed it with heavy machinery

Sindh govt & officials are always busy for looting & plundering. PPP is bug of money.

One of my relative told me that now construction work is going on with full swing & it is expected it will be completed by the end of 2019 or starting of 2020. But again I think buses will be provided by sindh Govt.

4 to 5 years for green line. Red, blue & yellow will take 15 more years under sindh pathetic Govt.

But right now I am really really happy for Mohmand dam

Productivity is the key , because if you make something with Loan the ideal goal is to run the project and start making money , with these projects in Karachi , the loans are taken but money is not being generated so interest builds up on loan money

So productivity is as important as completion

In most of construction videos seen for Karachi BRT , I see very little workforce , working vs their was an army of workers in Lahore and Peshawar projects

30 story building constructed in China in 15 days beat that

Great news. Mass transit will reduce our dependence on imported oil as well reduce traffic and improve air quality.

Green line = Federal government

Orange Line (only 3km) = Bhutto ab bhi zinda, will take another decade for completion it seems.

Yellow line is only a concept at this stage. The next line that might be started is Blue line which was to be funded by Bahria Town. I heard federal government is looking at Red line as well, hopefully it starts soon.
