What's new

JF17 Final version

1. F-15 is a heavy-weight fighter, while JF-17 is lightweight.
2. Does Silent Eagle have any orders until now?
Seems Israel ordered one squadron and also South Korea and perhaps KSA as well.

No, F-15 has given up the semi stealth concept.

. . .
no perfect 5th generation fighter have be developed so far, even USA F-22 have lot of issue. its seems 4 and 4.5 generation fighter jets will stay there for at least 2 decades

.
Since India will receive Rafale in september and maybe F35 in next 5 year or so (as expected post 27 feb) therefore now BLK4,5,6 will come to limelight as a stop gap as 4.7 plus gen semi stealth aircraft.
you're just have false assumptions/speculations as for RAFALE/F-35 threats posed by India there are options like J-10C/J-11/J-31, after block -3 or may be block-4 there will be no more further version of JF-17 especially SEMI STEALTH VERSION because if this project will proceed to SEMI STEALTH version it will me no more JF-17 project but a whole new project because its STRUCTURALLY/MECHANICALLY different from current JF-17 @Umair Nawaz

. .
jf17 is a 4th gen A/C which lacks stealth but project Azm is aimed at next gen A/C with stealth and other advance techs and stealth changes the whole airframe.
I know airframe would be totally different for stealth
but avionics flight control software sensor fusion and perhaps even engine
most likely azm outcome would be 2 engined so can use the same in newer jf17 for reducing per unit costs
Even new f16 blocks uses systems aesa radars derived from f35 program

.
im of the view that it is meaningful in case of Pakistan as the bridge b/w 5th gen Project Azm and our current JF17 Blocks. Therefore Blk4 will be a semi stealth version which was originally planned for Blk3.

Pakistan in this case may not follow the F16 example as India may get F35 sooner then later.
And how do you know that semi stealth version of JF-17 was being plan for BLK-3, is your any friends and family members have a strong positions in Pakistan armed forces or do you believe in some fake rumors/speculations by some random entities/medias @Umair Nawaz

It's just a fan boy wish :p:

The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) has outlined ambitious plans to support its development of a fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) - otherwise known in Pakistan as Project AZM.

The PAC enterprise, which is owned and run by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), has established a new office - the Aviation Research, Indigenization & Development (AvRID) unit - to lead the FGFA programme, it confirmed.

The development programme is supported through Pakistan's development of a new aerospace complex - named 'Aviation City' - that was launched in 2017 to support Project AZM and other national military aerospace requirements.

"The office of DG [Director General] AvRID has been established to transform into reality the [PAF's] air staff vision… with the long-term goal of developing our own fifth generation fighter aircraft (FGFA)," PAC said on its website.

"[The] development of [the] FGFA would be a major national programme that would entail a massive amount of work, not all of which may possibly be carried out within PAC or even within Pakistan.

"Such large-scale development requires synergetic efforts from a number of industrial (public and private) and academic organisations to fulfill the enormous task," it added.

In order to "manage an engineering development programme of this magnitude", effective technical, engineering, and project management processes need to be established, PAC said.

PAC also outlined several specialist project teams that it will establish in collaboration with other national agencies as part of the Aviation City initiative.

These include an engineering management and support office, an Aviation Design Institute, a Mission Electronics Design Institute, an Aero Structures Design Institute, an Advanced Technologies Centre, and a Flight Test Centre.

PAC states that AvRID will collaborate with and leverage the capabilities of these various Aviation City agencies in undertaking Project AZM. "This [will] put together components of industry and academia to build a high-end research centre to enhance indigenisation capability.

O BOY O BOY O BOY AM I NOT EXCITED OR WHAT!!!!!!

depends.....on scenario, threat environment and challenges.

There r fair chances that Project Azm may itself b 5th gen Stealth version of JF17 design itself(yes im aware of that design too of Azm which is a clean sheet design)....but still im saying that post 27 feb.

For now things are pretty murky.

this article doesn't say any single word for Block-3/4/5/6 you assume and speculate and its only for project AZM @Umair Nawaz :disagree:

you're just speculating spreading false rumors of yours @Umair Nawaz

yeah i know.....but that article gives a clue and how long this project azm will take....and why stop gap will be required to fill the gaps b/w current JF17s and Azm.

this is the context in which i shared this report to further substantiate the need for semi steath Blk4,5,6.

Also after 27 feb. both Pakistan and China will like to continue this project further in any case
