Today I received information from a well informed connection that both jets were downed by JF-17s. Indian Su-30 was shot, its tail got damaged but not sure if it was downed - but what he was confirming was 2 jets in addition to Su-30 MKI. So looks like Pakistan has downed 3 Indian jets in this episode.

Isn't it getting late to start a brand new 5th generation fighter plane as you have stated China is planning for maiden flight on the 6th generation in 2025. At the movement China just has j20 in full swing and j31 stopped for some reason.

The most iconic feature for China's 6th gen fighter will indeed be the variable cycle engine, the codename is 'Mount Everest'. Other features will be improved AI, Cloud, etc.

The navy will always be a generation late than the air force, just look at the USN, most still using the F-18, and the introduction of the F-35 is still in infant stage.

2 x JF17 downed 2 Indian aircraft both kills were BVR opening a new chapter in PAF history JF17 Block II serial 201

One was downed by Squadron leader Hasan and the other by a Wing Commander both flying out of Kamra

Squadron leader Hasan downed a Mig21 and pilot Abhiandhan was caught and handed back

Second aircraft was shot down and two pilots bailed out, the video shows Kashmiris in indian occupied Kashmir discussing the nationality of the parachutes both Indian

now they are saying it was either from Su30MKI or Mirage 2000

the aircraft in Budgam was a helicopter clearly seen from its rotary gear and was said to be shot down by friendly fire, possibly a SAR sent after initial downings of fighters

the burnt out bodies were also from this crash

another video circulating showing injured pilot and some guys asking him "sir are you ok" is a old video mixed with recent events

If Pakistan and China plan to offer the Block III to Malaysia and Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad intends to visit on March 23, I sure hope the PAF shows him the JF-17s that actually shot down the enemy planes. The PAF can show the Malaysians designs for the JF-17 block III and get their input on what exactly they would want improved. The JF-17 Block III prototype hasn't flown yet, and input from a customer that operates The Mig-29, Su-30MKM and F-18D. PAF can come away with improving their chances of selling to the Malaysian or at the very least, getting their input on making the JF-17 more potent.

Dr. Mahatir Mohamad can also say some kind words on Pakistan's behalf to try to attract FDI to Pakistan, and also help motivate Malaysian companies to help improve Pakistani business practices via setting up companies across the full spectrum of industry and agriculture). He should also be shown the books on CPEC and asked how Imran Khan should manage the projects based on his decades of experience.
