“These refugees are fleeing horrifying terror and unimaginable violence. To shut the door on them not only makes little sense, but it is cruel and contrary to the values of our country – a nation founded by refugees fleeing religious persecution and strengthened by waves of immigrants. More than most, our community knows what happens when the doors to freedom are shut. That is why ADL relentlessly will fight this policy in the weeks and months to come,” ADL CEO Jonathon Greenblatt said in a statement on Saturday.

Why do you think Jewish groups are against Trump on this?

.
And to think of - Most Muslim countries ban Jews from Israel or elsewhere. Which is the more progressive set of people. You decide.

jews were given refuge in muslims lands when they were persecuted in europe 15th 16th century pls dont say compare progressiveness on the basis of a statement from few sympathizers .... moreover we r not against jews or any group as long as they dont harm muslims or occupy muslim lands...

Educated guess and all .. but mybe it's because a lot of them have memories of themselves and/or relatives/ancestors who were singled out/persecuted because of who they were.

Many Jews played a big part in the Civil Rights movement-marches of the 1960s.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

we are all abrahamic religions and need to stick together.
Ha Ha.... we have seen what Abrahamic religions have done to each other over the years....

When you say we? Whom do you mean? Jews have been persecuted in Muslim lands since time immemorial. (I can state history)
We know what your passport states? "all countries of the world except Israel"

More Muslims are killed/maimed by fellow Muslims in Muslim lands owing to Islamic theology every year than in all of Palestine all throughout the history. Yet...

Jewish groups are always against any religious/ethnic discrimination

well you can state few events but you dont know the backgrounds behind all those stuff u have read and i dont blame u for that since ur information base is either your parents, your religious teacher, and media ...
i really doubt your statistics that more muslims are killed due to Islamic theology ... mr.bush and obama were not muslims and they are reponsible for all the mess they have created in middle east which ended in getting soo many muslims being killed ... dont pass any statement about which you have either no knowledge or little knowledge thanx

one advice : whenever you read history or look into history then b neutral and read full background of that situation ...
