Japan protests China's ‘unilateral exploration activity’ near disputed sea gas field

The Chinese communists slaughtered or brainwashed those that fought against Imperial Japan. The Chinese communists killed more Chinese than the Imperial Japanese. Thus the communists and those afterwards have no claim on damage committed by Japan. Japan's recognition from the KMT to the CCP is more than enough for the concerns of the CCP. Pardon the stark reply to what otherwise had a softer touch.
yes, that's exactly the tone we could expect from a JP guy that feeling proud of "we have many American military bases in our territory!!" That's indeed a nice show. Thanks.

What a bully this country is. That's why nobody wants this bully to rise in their neighborhood.

.
Senkaku was nationalized because China started territorial violations. If China did not start those territorial violations, then the Senkaku islands would still be in Japanese private hands. One step after another, China continues a path of aggression that is supported by their ill-informed population. Japan's call to the 2008 agreement is a call to rollback the increasing tensions. Japanese people care about not behaving aggressively, so even if futile, they make the call to it.

Japan legally have 4 islands, you are looser of WWII. The decision are clearly issued by international conference and document.

.
Everybody can see the Japanese unrepentive behaviour of WWII. We most Asian are right to continue to hate Japanese.

Tojo is big monster who order the imperialism invasion of Asia. He cordone murder and the existence unit of barbaric unit like 731 in China. He felt rest of Asian are just slave for Japanese and Japanese themselves are superior.

Tojo is same as hitler.
Actually Tojo and other class A war criminals were a scapegoat, yet they were all guilty for crime against humanity, but the ultimate culprit was the Emperor Hirohito, he was spared by USA due to the stability of post WW2 Japan. Of cause history book would say the otherwise, but keep in mind history was written by human for their benefits. If any Chinese member are interested, go check 宋鴻兵's chancel in Youku where he had a series of videos of throughout analysis for WW2 Japan. Trust me it will sure open your eyes.

At first, I thought he was a White American who lives in Japan and specializes on Asian history, but the more I looked at his posts and his tone on several issues, the more I believe he is a typical right wings Japanese that we would see on youtube everytime Imperial Japanese's war crimes are mentioned. The same tactics and tones, like their politicians.

There's no pride in it. It's just the most sensible thing to do.

Well whatever I am, arguments are arguments. Just take the arguments as they are instead of putting a layer of stereotyping over them. If you have rebuttles, why not say them?

.
The remaining of the not-satisfied victims that continue demands for apology will never be satisfied, many of whom do it for politics, not feelings. They don't deserve an apology because they are demanding it for an alternative agenda.
Talking about stereotyping, you are no different. What make you think many of them doing for politic and alternative agenda, you are not them. You stereotype them supporting victims of Comfort woman for alternative agenda. I tell you what there are many people including westerners are sympathized with the Korean about Comfort woman issue. There are still living victims today, including in China and South East Asia, and they have every right to demand apology because first they are the victim who experienced something unbearable that affect their whole life, and second they are wrongly accused by the Japanese politicians as a "paid prostitute".

Apology must be sincerely from heart and in consistent with action, you can ask other members here from other victim's countries that how many will think Japanese's apologies are sincere. Saying one thing and doing another is not sincere. Moreover, ODAs is low interest loan, not free money, it have to pay back. Also ODAs helps Japan to develop other markets for their own products. This is not a charity, Japan is doing for their own economic gains.
Here it is again "Japan is evil end of story" with a complete lack of interest in historical comprehensive understanding.
What is the historical comprehensive understanding of unit 831 and Nanking massacre? there are none, but excuses to whitewash their crimes everytime people bring up their atrocities. Every sane person know that Japanese invasion was to expand their empire and grasp any resources as many as possible but only failed terribly. The Japanese text book may tell you they were liberating and helping others from evil Imperial western powers, but the truth is firstly no Asian country ever asked Japan for help and secondly the most people including both solders and civilians were killed by Japanese were Asians. Japan was just another imperial power but much bloodier. Imperial Japan was indeed evil, unit 831 and Nanking massacre in China alone can prove it. How could be using living human for chemical and bacteria experiments are not evil? Butchering and raping thousands of innocent civilians is not evil? Other countries were doing the same thing doesn't make you less evil. Shifting topic to Mao and CCP won't help Japan to whitewash their war crime in China. Twisting numbers of casualty of massacre like your government won't erase the fact that the Japanese solders murdered innocent civilians in China. Accusing other people for alternative agenda won't help Japan to prevent victims to demand apology from your government.
Lastly, I know this is a worthless reply because you will never listen as your other posts shown.

You speak about the comfort women as if your source was only news articles.

It's Unit 731 not 831.

Japan lost the war to the Americans. Since that time, the education we received is not one that creates adults. Even for us, people in their 40s, and for the generation older than me, in their 50s and 60s, there’s no reasonable model of what an adult should be like. The theory that Japan’s defeat stripped the country of its independence and led to the creation of a nation of permanent children, weaklings forced to live under the protection of the American Big Daddy, is widely shared by artists and intellectuals in Japan. - Hideaki Anno

I was mad, so i made a mistake. So for clarity, did Japanese politician think comfort woman were paid prostitute or not? If not, then i get a wrong information.

It's a big topic actually. Basically, it was a business. And many Koreans were part of the business. There were many Korean recruiters and many brothel owners that were Korean. Just like how there were many Koreans in other aspects of societal function such as in management, police, and in the Imperial Army. Another important point is that women's rights in those days in Japan and Korea were not very high. So it is inappropriate to take today's standards and apply them to those days. Japanese sources are not needed. Bruce Cumings, Park Yuha, and Sarah Soh.

The demands for apologies about the comfort started in the early 1990s as that was when South Koreans started to become aware of the brothel system. Understandably demands for recognition and apologies are to be expected. Japan delivered that and compensation throughout the 1990s and 2000s. But renewed demands for more apologies and such continued. This is the point when it becomes apparently politically driven. So now it comes down to December 2015 with the so-called landmark deal that means more apology and compensation but on condition of being final and irreversible, but it is still being dragged on by some in South Korea and now the government is considering putting that deal under review. Although it should be noted that in the first dispatch of compensation in the early 2000s and then the later 2015 agreement, about half of surviving comfort women agreed to accept compensation and the issue at rest in their case. For that, the other South Koreans that were not satisfied with the level of compensation and apologies scolded those comfort women that accepted the compensation. Some of the comfort women that accepted the compensation did so secretly to protect themselves from the hot headed South Koreans.

Man, the Americans have turned you Japs into their slaves for real. You just haven't been able to recover after WWII... What happened to the Samurai code? What a shameful cowardice at display.
Samurai code? You mean rapping and killing women and children and even bayoneting babies ?

The South Korean are hypocrite, they require the apologies from Japanese in WW2 but Obviously, they denied for all crimes they did in Vietnam War.

I'm not going to argue with you with the Korean comfort woman, because you may be right. But do you know comfort woman was also happened in China and other places in SEA. Most comfort woman from China were kidnapped by Japanese, there is a known fact by Chinese community. That is why we have doubt on the Korean Comfort woman issues.

There was definitely brutality, use of chemical weapons, and such things that warrant apologies. But the apology tit has been milked dry and no longer wants to give.

I think what needs to happen is for a general consensus among various Asian countries on the history of East and South East Asia needs to be established so that the schools on all the countries have more or less the same history being taught. And then once a year, a memorial ceremony could be held by the various countries in the region for the war, life loss, war veterans, and recognition of atrocities.

The current situation is that what is understood, interpretation, and the narrative, is very different among the different countries in the region and that the history gets abused by mass media and politics. So a shared consensus on historical understanding and how to treat it is at a point of being virtually impossible to achieve.

The South Korean are hypocrite, they require the apologies from Japanese in WW2 but Obviously, they denied for all crimes they did in Vietnam War.

I don't particular dislike the country but this issue really puts me off. I would eat kimchi once in a while if the issue would just hurry up and get settled.

Japanese are despicable.
They forced large amount of women into prostitution.
They later insult them by labeling them as willing prostitutes.

Japan should go to the Netherlands and loudly call their women prostitutes.

Dutch Comfort Women also want apology from Japan over WWII war crimes
Some Comfort Women in the Netherlands received financial compensation about 10 years ago. A number of them refused as a matter of principle, wanting the Japanese to first acknowledge that war crimes were committed.
