Japan Plans to ‘Go On Offense’ with 300 Km-Range Missiles

Release the kraken......its a matter of time before the JSDF Becomes Imperial Army, Navy and air force

.
Then you have no problems with a JPN-VN alliance that will help contain China.

There goes China's claim to the SCS.

It was coming. China simply is asking for trouble, going around with a sign on the back, saying,"Kick me."

.
Japan would share some of these missiles to Philippines

I don't see any problem, why is a problem for China, through out Chinese history, we play contain game like play "GO"...and we shall see who will prevail at the end.
China basically threatened to put a knife at the economic jugular vein of just about every Asian countries nearby. They WILL make the necessary domestic sacrifices to ensure they will make the best contributions they can to secure access to the SCS. The US will also politically and militarily increase our presence. When the Cold War ended, the Philippines kicked US out, now thanks to an aggressive China, they regretted that decision. Looks like your China will be regretting the decision to replace the Soviet Union as the region's bully.

And finally...Spare everyone the metaphysical mumbo jumbo...It gets so eff-ing trite.

Tokyo threat to block Miyako unacceptable

Japan will develop a new land-to-sea missile that has a range of 300 kilometers, according to Yomiuri Shimbun. The new weapon is expected to be deployed on islands such as Miyako in 2023. By improving their long-range strike capability, Japan aims to acquire bigger control over the disputed waters around the Diaoyu Islands, which are only 170 kilometers away from Miyako Island.

Miyako sits at the mouth of the Miyako Strait, an international waterway which is also a major route for the Chinese navy to enter the Pacific Ocean. If the new missile is deployed at Miyako, it could threaten all Chinese ships in the waters of the Diaoyu Islands.

Japan's aggressive plan has barely met any opposition. In stark contrast, China's deployment of some land-to-air missiles in Yongxing Island in the Xisha Islands for self-defense has been radically protested by the US and Japan, which claim China is militarizing the South China Sea and threatening the freedom of navigation. Japan keeps increasing the range of its missile weaponry on Miyako Island, from the type 88 land-to-sea missiles with a range of 150-200 kilometers, to the new missile of 300-kilometer range. Where is Japan's respect for freedom of navigation in international waters?

Japan has a strong awareness of crisis, one of the reasons that continues to drive the country in its past militarist expansions. Japan demands a big say in the smooth transportation in the South China Sea and the Taiwan Straits. Meanwhile, it wants to be a dominator in the Miyako Strait and decide whether the Chinese navy and civilian ships can enter or not.

Japan's logic excludes China's concerns about national security. Japan thinks its national interests should prevail and the US-Japan alliance should be the centerpiece of the Asia-Pacific region.

If Japan wants to make trouble with China on the latter's path to the Pacific, then it shouldn't make fuss about the fact that China will limit Japan's waterways in the South China Sea. Japan shouldn't use double standards between the militarization of the Miyako Island and the militarization of the Nansha Islands.

China has no intention to engage in a physical confrontation with its neighbors or the US, because it is not in line with China's national interests. But China's mustn't accept Japan's unilateral move to block the Miyako Strait in particular situations. A militarized Miyako Island should be a target of Chinese military forces, which could consider annihilating its military base if in war with Japan. However, it is best for both that the scenario won't happen.

Today is the 71st anniversary of Japan's surrender in WWII. The Japanese should use the day for introspection and remorse, instead of raising nationalism and flexing muscles.

Hopefully they'll do much more than this. I think they will.

I think it is sheer stupidity on the part of Japan to turn herself into a sacrificial lamb. Japan should leave that role to mother india, since the indians are so eager to assist the US to contain China.

No, it's not. China makes USA's job easy, all are getting closer to the USA, not further, because of China itself.

You can bullsh1t as much as you like but at the end, only G2 interest count, Japan, Vietnam are just some chess piece that US use to bargain with China and its US will dispose these countries like they did with India when Nixon came to China. If you still don't know, an Annual Sino-US strategic dialogue ring a bell? Japan once was wondering what we're cooking, is China and US is plotting something which Japan is not allowed to be present. US brought military armada to show to these worthless countries that they will get the moral support of US to counter China but Americans also do something under the table with China.

Vietnam, Japan and India are not in big boy's league, China and US will decide the fate of these countries and the course of their future but someone here jump of joy to believe US is here to counter China,

USA didn't finish off North Korea since the 1950's and let the people suffer there for decades till this day. Your big mouth about USA finally doing something this time with China (next door to North Korea) is full of nothing but hot air. Your jingoistic attitude is wearing thin. When will China collapse? When will China finally be destroyed and defeated by USA if not against North Korea? When?

Let him make his dream, as Kissinger said to Zhou En Lai that Japanese were dreaming that China and US have nuclear exchange...that's not gonna happened , we should make different from pragmatic and lunatic people.

Political drama in the SCS is a fake publicity stunt akin to a fake wrestling match between USA & China. It looks awesome to the audience. But the punches and slams thrown are all fake. Many posters here will be disappointed when Scarborough Shoal gets built in a few years and not a single bullet will have been fired from either side...

USA & China even share the same flag pattern (stars at top left corner). Almost like whoever designed American flag also created the Chinese one. Only makes sense when we account for an elite society from both countries that prefer backdoor/under-the-table dealings and negotiations.

Meanwhile the pawns in Asia also sport the same flag pattern (either a circle/yin-yang/star in the middle of the flag). They dare not carry a flag design with shapes at the top left corner like the G2... b/c they don't belong to the same elite society as their G2 counterparts, hence a difference flag for a different group...

Well said:tup:, These posters with "no stars on the top left corner" like to make noise over SCS to get their attentions  but they have not clue of back door deal between China and US. One thing I like about Americans is their don't give a sh1t about these low class countries think of US if US interests is preserved, as long as China is still vital to American's interest such as trade, security, geopolitical support such as middle east or else where then there is an under table deal even US has to scarify these low class countries' interest.

China shouldnt blame Japan 300km AShM while they showing aircraft killer, Guam killer , DF31, 41, anywhere, anytime they could.

Japan doesnt need to declare anything, just build cruise missile, ballistic missile as many as you can

Please spare us from this propaganda you are being fed, big boy league.
Same big boy league chinese are now rushing to seek support over your FATE in SCS from the so called minnows according to ccp "India".
But fault lies with India for not asserting itself to the role it is capable of at world stage and in SCS. The day that happens that's the last nail in the coffin for your fate in SCS.
