Jammu Kashmir a disputed territory, not ‘integral part’ of India: Pakistan

ISLAMABAD –Pakistan on Thursday said that Jammu Kashmir was a disputed territory and it’s not an integral part of India as claimed by the administration in New Delhi.


“We do not accept so-called accession of Jammu Kashmir to India as it is a disputed territory and we don’t accept Jammu Kashmir as integral part of India,” Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam told a questioner during her weekly briefing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


According to resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council, Kashmiris had been ensured their right of plebiscite, the spokesperson explained. She also regretted ceasefire violation at the Line of Control in the disputed state and unprovoked shelling by the Indian forces.


In a recent incident in Kotli sector, a Pakistan Army soldier was injured due to Indian shelling, the Foreign Office spokesperson said. A meeting between the local commanders from both sides of the Line of Control was held to discuss the issue, she informed a questioner.

These statements don't do anything constructive. If it is a disputed territory then demand talks with the Indian administration to resolve the impasse. Shelling, firing pot shots across the borders and issuing media statements doesn't do anything towards taking the issue any further.

I don't understand why Indian media keeps pushing new articles on how Pakistan is claiming Kashmir, or China is claiming "Arunuchal Pradesh". How is this news when it has been the consistent diplomatic position of Pakistan/China for the last half-century?

But neither do we accept Pak Administered Kashmir including Gilgit/Baltistan an integral part of Pakistan!

because sunshine India considers them as Indian territory, infact India hasnt started to Push Azad Kashmir and Asksai-chin aggressively
which i think India will do in a couple of years if they arent solved

But you claim them, and that's what matters. Whether someone is pushing their claims "aggressively" is a matter of perception. In reality and in substance, India is doing no different.

India is different, we don't voice the claims over media or planned incursion by army, we take it up in bilateral meet or dispute settlement meet

Lol. Do you think Pakistan is pro-actively pressing its claim? If you read the article, you would have realized that the Foreign Policy spokesperson was asked a question on Kashmir's status, and thus reiterated Pakistan's stance. Did you expect him to say that Pakistan withdrew its claim? You're being totally unreasonable and blinded by nationalism.
